Week One Gut Reactions
By PackerAaron
- I'll say it again - Aaron Rodgers will be fine. Everyone around him, however...
- How can a defense be the strength of a team (as McCarthy keeps telling any reporter who will listen) when it simply can not get off the field on 3rd down?
- Speaking of which - when the Packers spent the entire NFC Championship not being able to get off the field on 3rd down, wouldn't you think it was time for some schematic changes? But no - four down lineman, man coverage, two safeties deep no matter what. A 12 year old playing Madden could call an effective offensive drive against Bob Sanders
- When will people (fans, media, coaches, etc) realize that Greg Jennings is a star?
- Jared Allen? Meet Chad Clifton. How does Ziggy Wilf feel having spent all those draft picks and all that money to get zero production? I mean, Michael Montgomery, unheralded nobody backup defensive end for the Packers, had a ten times more productive game than Allen - and he plays for almost nothing comparatively.
- Always great to beat Childress.
- We have not heard the last of Will Blackmon
- McCarthy took the ball out of Rodgers' and Grant's hands at the end and gave it to - Brandon Jackson?
- Speaking of coach - when on Earth will he junk the red-zone screen? I mean, has he had ONE work in the three years he's been coaching the Packers?
- I can not WAIT to play Detroit next week

Great post. I said before the last drive "pleae don't run 3 times." One first down ices the game. The defense was tired. But hey, can't say enough about Rodgers, esp since the O line killed him on the first few drives. Just don't overlook Detroit thinking about Dallas (please!)

Notice how Jackson approached the line backwards? What happened to the guy who made major improvements this offseason?
