Vikings Implosion Imminent
By coreyb
Is it a coincidence that one of the worst local sports media markets (evidence) in this country is also the home of the worst team in the NFL? I agree wholeheartedly with this quote from Matt Thomas of KFTP Talkradio. The video was made before Favre decided to stay retired. Here's a priceless common sense of a gem:
This team (Vikings) is going to regret going through this entire mess. It's gonna break up the clubhouse or the locker room. It's going to be a situation where we're gonna see, not 1, not 2 but possibly 3 quarterbacks playing this year.
...
.....(blah blah Favre favre...I wish MN had Favre cuz they suck and havent been anything since 1977 etc)...
Forget about #4 for a sec, let's talk about ultimately the problem.... They SHOULD have spent more time, more actively searching and chasing down Matt Cassel and Jay Cutler.
Shoulda. Woulda. Didn't.
Here's the vid:

Last week all the talk was the Queens were going to the Super Bowl if Farve were to have signed with them. Now, 2 days after he announced he is not. All the talk is how the wheels have fallen off and the season is a wash? They have not even kicked off yet! Just another reason why I hate that team.
Oh by the way Queens. Welcome to 6-10

Living in minneapolis, I get entertained regularly by the rubes at KSTP. One week ago, everyone was all pumped up about the upcoming season and the sure to come Super Bowl Run that #4 would be leading. Now what - they're backpedaling so fast, they've got the speedometer pegged at -90. Ah, we're good with what we've got. Right. . .

"Not getting Favre was a letdown for me. Not as big a letdown as Andersons miss in 98 but honestly a bigger downer than the 40+ point loss to the Giants in the NFC-CG. The only thing I have liked about Childress in the past few years is that he for some crazy reason had an "inside" connection to one of my favorite QB's of all time at the exact time that the Vikes really just needed an experienced QB. Favre would be the perfect fit in our offense right now to either take advantage of the 8 men in the box other teams continue to show. Now that Childress didn't deliver Favre I am back to the way I felt the entire time about him. No imagination, play it close and hope to win in the final few minutes of each game, cocky, horrible coach who lucked into getting Peterson or he already would have been fired."

I'm just waiting for the day AP gets injured and the queens finally realise how much of a "superbowl contender" they are then.

Don't worry Vikings' fans.
Two to three weeks from now Favre will be inked and the circus will be a 24/7 trapeze act.
The initial weeks will be perfect performances, but then the lion will get loose from the cage by 11/1 -- and the Vikings with Favre will result in an 8-8 or 9-7 season with a wild card playoff berth and a first round loss or, worse, no playoff spot.
