Undrafted Free Agent Update

Unconfirmed reports have the Packers looking to sign wide receiver Diondre Borel of Utah State and offensive lineman Theo Sherman of James Madison.

Primarily through a scouring of Twitter, I've found a couple mentions of players agreeing to terms with the Green Bay Packers.

I fully admit these reports are through unverifiable sources and are unconfirmed, although they certainly seem logical.

The first one is Utah State's Diondre Borel who played quarterback in college but looks to be making the transition to wide receiver in the pros. He's 6-0, 199 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.50 seconds.

A guy like this would have greatly benefited from an offseason program where he could have learned the offense and made the transition to a new position. About his only chance of sticking around with the Packers would be if he flashes some talent, and they think he's worth developing on the practice squad.

Based upon his skill set, he would seem to be very similar to second-round draft choice Randall Cobb. They're roughly the same height and weight, have experience at quarterback and will likely fit the best in the slot.

Another signing looks to be James Madison offensive lineman Theo Sherman. He's 6-3, 302 pounds and was a second-team All-CAA conference selection at college football's FCS level.

Sherman was a four-year starter at James Madison and while he played some tackle in college, NFLDraftScout lists his primary position as guard in the pros.
