Ty Law? No Thanks

I know Packer fans are excited by the news that Ty Law expressed interest in playing for the Packers, but there's a reason the 34 year old corner has been on the street this long. The Packers already have one aging corner that seems to have lost a step - they should think twice before adding another one who definitely HAS lost a step...

On a side note: I find it interesting that both Law and Tony Gonzalez have indicated their desire to play for a "contender" and that the Packers appear to qualify for that moniker in their minds. Do they genuinely feel that the 3-3 record is an aberration? Or are memories of last years deep playoff run still coloring the national perception of the Packers? Just thought it was worth noting.

I wouldn't worry about it. Law is the type of veteran TT and MM generally have no interest in. They almost always go with the unknown young guy with potential over the veteran that is definitely in a decline.

Really, Law would only be valuable to us as a backup safety (GOODBYE, Charlie Peprah), but obviously he wouldn't be interested in that role.

Now who wishes Ty Law played safety here? I never thought or really wanted him, but I'd take him after hearing the Atari news - who is obviously more hurt than anyone is letting on to.
