A friend was at the game and mentioned afterward about this. I believe he said it was Jennings on the left, out distancing his guy by three yards, and the safety had his back turned.
That’s why I was screaming at the TV (and Brett)! So sad.
i was at the game and the whole crowd went silent, a tear drop formed in my eye, started rolling down my cheek…..and then froze
Remember, Favre said that Donald Driver ran an out, but it was supposed to be a shake route. Nonetheless, it’s hard to look at and makes you sick to your stomach.
PackSmack – Yeah, saw that in his presser, but the frustrating thing is, even if he runs a shake, it’s a terrible read and throw, considering the other options available to him. That said, it’s cruel (thus the title of the post) to second guess the quarterback with the benefit of technology. I’d love to see what the person who made up the photo’s quarterback rating would be in an NFL game. I’m guessing – not too good.
packeraaron, no doubt there were better options, quite a few of them, aside from Driver. And the other thing is what’s not in the picture – namely that our offense stunk the whole second half of the game aside from this one play! No game should hinge on one play, no team should put itself in such a position; we should have taken care of business prior to this interception play so that we weren’t in the position in the first place. IMHO.
