The Redskins Are Dangerous

I'm not sure if Packer fans realize this, but this Sunday's game will be the Packers toughest test so far this season. This Redskins team is no joke, and is playing good to great football on both sides of the ball.

What really jumps out at me is the defensive improvement and how simple it seems the fix was from last seasons horrible showing by Greg Williams' crew. Expect a heavy dose of straight up Cover-2, not only this week, but in the weeks to come, until the Packers can make someone pay by running the ball. Favre has historically struggled against Cover-2, and played to form in the second half of the Bears game. (Though, admittedly, McCarthy didn't exactly put the game in Favre's hands until it was too late).

On offense, look for offensive coordinator Al Saunders and Head Coach Joe Gibbs to find ways to isolate H-Back Chris Cooley on Nick Collins and Brady Poppinga. If you think Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen gave the Packers problems, just wait until Cooley's on the loose, a much better player than either of the Bear's tight ends.
