The Packer Way
By PackerAaron
I know Ted Thompson's contract extension is old news, but I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge a fine achievement by a man who the majority of Packer fans wanted ridden out of town prior to this season. I've taken a lot of heat the last two years defending him, but as I always said and wrote, he is doing things the right way. He has refused to destroy the future of the franchise to try to get Favre one more chance at a Super Bowl. (And look here - he got him one and probably TWO more shots...) and brought in, it could be argued, the perfect coach for his team in Mike McCarthy. (Who, the word comes today, is close to signing an extension of his own).
Packer fans should be happy when they look at how the team is being run, from new CEO Mark Murphy, to General Manager Ted Thompson and Head Coach Mike McCarthy. The pieces are in place to keep the team competitive and solvent for years to come. One need only look at the horrible state of teams like the Falcons or Dolphins (two teams that suffer from megalomaniac owners who do more to hurt their teams than help them...) to appreciate the way the Packers are going about their business.

Exactly right! But you left our Detroit, Oakland, and Arizona in your comparison.
We are indeed fortunate to be fans of the finest franchise in all of sports.
Thanks Mr Harlan for leaving things much better when you came. We are forever in your debt.
