Many readers have no doubt noted (at least the ones that choose to email me and reply to me on Twitter) that I have been almost exclusively focused on the NFL's labor situation this summer. I have posted on the Packers here and there but for the most part I've left the job of covering the World Champs in the more than capable hands of Brian Carriveau (Also, we have to give big thanks to Max Ginsberg for filling in during Brian's vacation. Max never really got a proper introduction here on the site. Apologies Max - and welcome. We hope Max will stick around for awhile. He's pretty good.)

This trend (me leaning toward the NFL rather than the Packers) is mostly due to the lockout. I know many fans find it all mind-numbingly boring (which, of course, it is.) but I can't escape the fact that the very foundations upon which the league has been built could conceivably change during this labor battle - I don't think they will, but they could.

There is no denying that we are witnessing NFL history. The lockout is already the longest work stoppage in the history of the league with possibly many more weeks stretching out ahead without any resolution.

So as I find myself reading and watching more and more about the league in general, I'm going to be writing about it a lot more from now on as well. I'm not about to turn into Adam Schefter or anything but I will be posting quite a bit more about developments around the league and giving my take on them.

One of the ways I'll be delivering those takes is via a new podcast called "The Hard Count" that I'll be co-hosting with Andrew Garda. We'll have our first one up hopefully by the end of the week, and then as regularly as possible throughout the summer and into the fall. Andrew will also be posting his NFL takes here on the site.

Obviously, Cheesehead TV is not about to turn into "NFL TV" or anything. In fact, I'm pretty sure Garda and I will end up in the space currently occupied by the Ghost Ship Other 31. What we'll be doing won't be the news aggregator that Brian McIntyre did (And did expertly at that.) It will be much more commentary and opinion.

Now, I realize there are many of you who are actually rather thrilled at the prospect of not having to read my drivel as it pertains to the Packers - to those loving souls I can only apologize in advance when I tell you that this is far from the end of me posting about, breaking down and/or generally opining on the team that I love. And lest any of our three die-hard fans worry, Corey and I will be back with a full slate of Packer Transplants once the labor situation works itself out and the Packers hit training camp - if they end up doing it this summer or in 2012.

In the meantime, I hope you won't mind the intrusion of my random ramblings on all things NFL for awhile and into the future here at Cheesehead TV.
