A worthy endeavor to be sure, naming the greatest players ever to don the Green and Gold (or Blue and Gold). Quite an undertaking, one wrought with peril for any young blogger, in this case one Chris Lempesis at what was up until now one our favorite up-and-coming Packer blogs Ol' Bag of Donuts, as he carefuly constructs his list, building then tearing down, then building back up his precious list, tossing and turning each night as the project drags on. Who should be included? Who should be left out? Will Randy Wright make the cut? So many decisions. And no doubt, waking in a pool of sweat, young Lempesis cries out "What will Cheesehead TV make of my list!??!!"

Well, you've only posted three honorable mentions and numbers 12 and 11, but I'm here to tell you Chris, it doesn't look good. Oh sure, you could have a trick or two up your sleeve, what with 12 players yet to go. (There are 14 players on Chris' Top 12. He assures us this will all make sense in the end. The anticipation....is killing me) And I am completely on board with your inclusion of Sterling Sharpe on the actual list, for the reasons you cite. But James Lofton as nothing more than an Honorable Mention is a sham.  It's a travesty. It's a miscarriage of justice so great, I have trouble expressing the anguish, the sheer hopelessness I feel in anticipating the rest of the list. Especially troubling is your reasoning for Sharpe INSTEAD of Lofton. IF Sharpe had played, would his numbers have eclipsed Lofton's? Most likely. As the great philosopher, Corner HotDog Vendor Guy, said -  So freekin' what? This isn't baseball. Stats mean something, but not even close to everything. Lofton was one of the greatest players ever to wear a Green Bay uniform. Period.

With my feeble voice heard, I now wait, in the hopes that all will be revealed and the Great Lofton Snub of 2009 becomes crystalized and Ol' Bag Of Donuts reclaims it's up-and-comer status within the Packer Blogosphere.  For at this moment, it is in danger of becoming the "Remember that blog that was around for a few months? The one about Donuts? It was pretty decent until that horrific Lofton Snub. What were they thinking?" blog.
