G: The young weapons
B: The front 7 got schooled.U: The 4th quarter.

I’m overall encouraged. I think the Falcons will be the NFCS winner and we will see them in January. With our 4 best Offensive Players, we win that game and the youngsters will only get better.
I do
But the run defense, albeit against a superstar RB, looked rough. Eeesh.

I'd pay to see that. It would be more fun than watching Barry waste all the defensive talent.

The run defense was bad obviously. Whether that's on the players or the D coordinator, I don't know. I don't like Barry and question MLF's judgment in keeping him.

The Good: Reed looks like a good get. Hopefully, we learn from this loss.
The Bad: Didn't play complimentary football.
The Ugly : A TOTAL TEAM LOSS! Penalties, poor tackling, pathetic D, Time Mngt.from the sideline, players late for FG, missed opportunities.

Do we know the severity of Jenkins' knee injury?

Bakh not playing on artificial turf might be part of the game plan they're just keeping under wraps to thwart opponent's game planning? Or it might be a worsening of his condition. Kinda important there.

Who did the better job, Nijman or Walker?

Dillon can't be evaluated separate from the blocking he got. And he did much more than anybody else we have.

Dillon was the only one given a real chance. Wilson lost 5 yards on a no hope outside run handoff then gained an average of 5 yards a play on his next 2 and was never seen again. Taylor got one carry for 1 yard where he was met by 2 bodies at the line.

That said, while Wilson might have done better, you are absolutely right that the run blocking in the center was awful throughout, a fact that was so often voiced last week and yet so overlooked this week. Dillon does not look right to me though: his balance issues are too frequent.

I get not wanting to risk the knee on artificial turf but they sure could of used him...Granted had they kicked that early Fg instead of taking the.delay.of game and being forced to punt. Or if Wicks makes the play in the end zone in the 1st half or if Love makes the correct read on the shot play (you always go to the post across the field, that guy is always wide open) they win the game...so cant blae it on any of the players who didnt play. This was a game a young team thats learning to win didn't quite get it done

Wouldn’t argue with that at all, but Bahk being a healthy scratch at $20+ mil a year doesn’t help.

Hometown discount could be steep in exchange for consideration of not playing him on artificial turf, and not making him practice when it takes away from game day. Not knowing these elements behind the scenes makes it impossible for us to second guess the situation. Bakh likely would have any such guarantees at any trade destination. Also, the player's association has taken up his cause about getting rid of artificial turf entirely.

The good: Reed , Wicks, and Doubs look like a nice group.
The bad: Matt LaFluer has shown no improvement now in year five. His offense constantly stalls at crucial times. All last year opening drives were a joke. They NEVER play for four quarters. He is also responsible for keeping Joe Barry who should not be here. He kept Mennenga too long, and stuck with Drayton and it cost a Super Bowl appearance. His teams often lack intensity. We could have had Vic Fangio. But no. It’s still Barry.
This is a talented roster that he will never get to the next level.
When he lost the Rodgers/ Adams combo he has since won only 8 games. Three of them against the Bears. He lost as a number 1 seed twice, and the pathetic loss to the Lions last year cost a wildcard. I’ve seen enough.
The other bad would be David B, and Watson. Watson has had a few good games, has iffy hands, and is as fragile as a fawn. They made a mistake if the refused a trade for Jonathan Taylor if the reason was the Colts wanted Watson. We are deep at receiving and I don’t see him ever being a consistent contributor.
I’ll add Campbell as a bad too. He’s just never there until 5 to 7 yards have already been gained.
The ugly: I’ll reserve that for all of us that had to witness the final 14 minutes. It was an ugly way to spend a Sunday. Is there anyone that didn’t see this coming?? No life, no adjustments, no chance to win. Can’t even get a field goal attempt off… in a one point loss.
This team is probably good enough to at least steal a wildcard with many of todays coaching staffs. MLF rode Rodgers / Adams coattails. That’s over and hopefully he’s gone after this year , barring a miracle. He and Barry are about as bad as it gets in the NFL.

It seems like only yesterday a good number of Packers fans were saying the exact same thing about another wide receiver named Davante Adams.

The Good:
Ummm, ah, ummm...(digging deep here.)
Vikings lost, Lions lost, Bears lost and still suck.
The Pack's game? O-Line gave our QB wanna-be reasonable protection to throw a mile over his receivers and time for him to miss his targets. Ok, yes he had a few that were on even a few TDs. He's just not good under any kind of pressure (when it counts the most.)

The Bad: it's clear MLF don't trust Love with any even semi aggressive play calling. How many times does it take this staff to realize the sweep left was not working.? While the O-Line held their own while pass blocking they laid an egg run blocking. What little Dillon got, he got on his own.

The Ugly: 3 dropped INTs on D, 2 could have been pick 6 ! Then Im wondering if the D-Line could collectively stop a 4 year old little girl on her way to the bouncy duck on the playground at the park ! I'll stop here before blood resums shooting from my ears

I said last week that I failed to see this "new, more aggressive defense" we had been promised, and I got a half-dozen thumbs down for it.
So have at it, give me all the thumbs-down you like, but today they really sucked! Then, when you're done clicking on that downward pointing thumb, go and count the number of high draft picks playing on that "D", and tell me how good they are, or why they're not! 6-10 yds off the line all the time, WTF? And no true leader!

If MLF continues to let this happen, by keeping Barry he's buying his own ticket out of town.
Hey Matt, when you leave, take Murphy with you!

Good: Bijon Robinson

Bad: Stopping Bijon Robinson

Ugly: Coaching decisions losing the game. Matt LaFleur, Joe Barry, Rich Bisaccia, you’re looking like a bunch of dopes.

Delay of game on a long FG? Really? Did that 5 yd penalty really push Carlson out of range to force a punt? In a dome?

Did you miss something, Matt LaFleur, about your Kicker’s leg strength? Why are fans seeing all this stuff, and you, apparently are not?

Where is Rich Bisaccia vehemently sticking up for sticking with using Anders Carlson in this situation? How many of Carlson’s makes would have been good from 60 yds? 65 yds? He’s hitting 100% of his FG & PAT attempts on the season? Use him.

Josh Myers making the same critical miscues. How long before this staff puts this problem to bed?

Um… Jet… Concepts… ??? Pitching out to Dillon??? Running Dillon again from shotgun??? Offense unable to exploit ATL EDGES. Team unable to execute a QB sneak? MLF, self scout. You’re unwilling to adjust rapidly.

Barry. Ugh.

Special mention: Jaire Alexander failing to catch the fucking ball on a sure Pick 6.

CTFB, Jaire.

Another game winning play that turned into a game losing play. We had at a minimum 3 of those. Great players make game winning plays, Jaire Alexander. I’m not seeing it.

F

AJ Dillon’s “Quadzilla” is a lot of hot air.

Double F

Brian Gutekunst, draft a true #1WR.

Over reaction.

We were in it until the Falcons drive that gave them 19 in the fourth quarter. I'm not sure if the whole team checked out at that point or if any individual is rightly to blame. There was plenty before that point that could have won us the game.

Hopefully we draft another first round talent on defense and extend Joe Barry for three more years that seems to be working .

All joking aside : Lafluer should be fired immediately for not only hiring Joe Barry but keeping him for a third yr. Clown show

The Good : For missing so many key starters this game could have been a lot worse.
Nice to see the rookies Reed and Wicks have a good impact on the game. The Packers were about a quarter away from getting a W on the road.

The Bad : The run defense. The analytics guys keep saying that running the football doesnt matter all that much anymore and I just wish the Packers opponents would listen to the experts for a change.... To be honest I cant hate on the run D that much. Falcons ran the ball almost as many times as the Packers had total plays. The D line is basically KC and 3 kids who have never played a full NFL season. Teams have a choice to run at that all game or throw at JA and RD so its a pretty obvious choice. Also bad, not mixing alot of Taylor and Wilson into the mix to add some outside run game.

The Ugly : 4th quarter poise/killer instinct. The pressure got turned up in the 4th quarter and the Packers came out looking like a lump of coal. Its a young team and they had key injuries so its hard to expect it to happen early in the season but at the same time we only needed a few plays to get a first down or a stop or a field goal. Fans hating on MLF. There are always nits to pick with coaching but that offense was about as raw green experience-wise as you can get in the 2nd half. This fanbase drank the kool aid this summer thinking some kids with hardly any NFL experience were just gonna dunk on the old pros in the league because of the G on the hat, doubled down after beating up on a probably historically bad Bears team and now some are calling for MLF to be fired.... SMDH.... There is alot of potential in our young players but best case scenario is a bumpy, up and down season. For those that say MLF should be fired because of Barry you gotta remember from the whole ST co-coordinator debacle that MM has final say on coaching staff.

My problem with the defensive showing is that it was a very close parallel to that against a better Eagles team and other prior outings. It’s not looking like a growth pain but a perennial issue resurfacing.

My favorite play of the game was the No Snap Butt Shift Maneuver. Just shows the inexperience of youth. D is really going backwards again no doubt. Give the youngsters a break and think they will progress to a very good team!

Good: Jayden Reed. The guy is a player. Opening the game with a flea flicker was unexpected. Rasul played well. Falcons' running game.

Bad: Not playing with 4 of our best position players on the field: (Bakhtiari, Jenkins, Watson and Aaron Jones). I doubt we would have seen Jones tripping over his feet like Dillon was doing. Even with Dillon tripping over his feet, he was making the first downs. The refs were the ones marking him short, on at least two occasions. I will add the Officials to the bad list. Quay dropping the sure fire INT. Jaire missing the Pick Six. Toure not completing the catch on that 4th down play where we were also flagged for an illegal shift. The pass was incomplete, so we turned the ball over on downs. Wicks has some promise, but he needs to catch the ball. We looked like a young team not knowing what they were doing, or supposed to do. Our D was gassed with about 10 minute left in the game. Van Ness getting injured sucked. Him being in there could have stopped Ridder from running around and maybe have helped our run defense, too.

Ugly: Barry still has a job in GB. That run defense was atrocious! This game showed us just how bad the Bears are. Watching the lead, we had built up at halftime, slip away from us.

MrTundra,

"Our D was gassed with about 10 minute left in the game."

If that's really what happened that explains it better than anything else I've seen but NOT ON OUR OFFENSE! Three possessions with not even a completion. Having double your opponent's points doesn't mean anything when it's only 12 and you allow 13 unanswered in the fourth quarter.

Ick. How they bounce back is important. So is the status of 4 key injured players. Hopefully Bakh's absence was planned and he's not #5 out with injury. (Jenkins Watson Jones LVN)

The Good: 3 quarters of football.

The Bad: Unfortunately there are 4 quarters in a football game.

The Ugly: It's good to be innovative, but running a QB sneak without the football will probably not make it's way into league-wide NFL playbooks : )

Good: bye 17-0

Bad: Bahk (not so much a bad back, but a knee with an attitude.IF it is true he made the decision to not play on turf. One of the best abilities is availability.

Ugly: my sister who forgot my BD, again!

*** we will be fine. Take a deep breathe after a swig of Leinie's Bumble Bee and know this will all play out and we will be a better team with some additions and subtractions in 1-2 years.

The Good---We got Atl off the field at start of 2nd half. Then went up 12.
The Bad --- After looking like 2nd half team last week, we collapse in 4th on O AND D.
Total yardage figures pathetic. 84 rushing/140 passing. Atl rushed for 211!
The Ugly --- our OL going from highly touted to MASH unit in 2 weeks. We've got decent subs, but they're not a unit now, and that bodes Ill for the rest of the season.
Sorry, I'm really bummed right now.

The Good: I was able to catch my first game of the season
The Bad: We lost

No, but seriously tho.

The Good: Three good to adequate quarters without three (later four) key pieces on the offense.

The Bad: Rookie mistakes, as is to be expected. Without them we could've probably squeaked out with a win.

The Ugly: MLF and Barry reverting to MLF and Barry in the 4th quarter. Yikes...

The good: bass intro!

Everything else: bad to ugly. The good wasn't enough. Any one of a million things might have changed this into a win. I don't know how offensive coaching might have improved anything other than going back to January to realize that Myers is not one of our best 5 and Zach Tom needs to be worked in as our starting C. That and having Carlson go for the FG at 57 after a 5 yard penalty; if you aren't going to do that the risk on him makes no sense.

D: no adjustment when nothing worked. The idea that run defense doesn't matter is thoroughly debunked. Of course it does. Not giving up the explosive play is still important. Gotta be able to do both. We knew Atlanta has a good run game. We didn't know their QB was this elusive. I'm not sure how that really compares to Justin Fields. Most of his throwing under pressure was short, but he still connected very consistently.

Ja gave up at least one deep ball. I'm not sure what else Ritter threw that goes into the explosive category.

The good - Our young receiver guns!

The bad - injuries to so many key players. But all NFL teams have to live with "next man up" situations every week. I guess all the dead Rodgers money has seriously hamstrung them more than other teams. Thanks Mr Murphy.

The ugly - Barry. Pure and simple. Incompetence personified.

I lose respect for MLF a little more every week with his insistence on keeping Barry here. Maybe MLF should have stayed an OC as he can't seem to make hard and obvious decisions quickly or decisively?
