Ted Thompson Attends Central Florida Pro day

The Packers general manager was on hand to watch cornerback Josh Robinson and outside linebacker Darius Nall.

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson personally attended the pro day workout at Central Florida on Thursday, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

The main attraction at UCF was cornerback Josh Robinson who turned in the fastest 40 time at the NFL Combine back in February with an eye-opening time of 4.33.

While thought of highly enough to be invited to the Combine, Robinson wasn't considered a top cornerback prospect. His 40 time sent analysts going back to his game tape to see the athleticism they may have overlooked.

With Charles Woodson getting up in age, speed is something the Packers could be looking to add to their secondary. After giving up the most passing yards in NFL history, they could use a cornerback that's not going to let receives get behind him.

Robinson's 5-10 height doesn't bode well, however, as the Packers under Thompson have generally stayed away from defensive backs under 5-11.

Another under-the-radar prospect that worked out at UCF was Darius Nall, a college defensive end that could very well could play 3-4 outside linebacker at the NFL level. He stands 6-2 1/2, 254 pounds.

As Brandt points out, Nall is a feel-good story after having beat cancer twice.

Thompson told reporters this week that he was leaving the NFL owners meeting early, presumably to attend a college pro day.
