Well, according to the ESPN power rankings, if you follow that sort of thing, the Packers and Bears are tied at 11th place. Now, this is skewed because one of the guys didn't edit his rankings since they were first published before training camp, while all of the others had the Packers in the top 10, but it is still kind of interesting. Either way, I have a feeling that this game will be closer than I would like. Should be a helluva Sunday night game. The only problem is that good games involving the Packers tend to send my blood pressure to dangerous levels.

I think most objective people would say that's true-- GB being better. But it's a division game and it's the NFL. We've blow two games against the bears in the past 2 years. Games where we kicked their butt statistically and somehow managed to loose.

I would say this game could be extremely close if the Bears' secondary were in somewhat better condition, but given how many injuries they're dealing with back there, it looks like the Packers could pick them apart. Get the Bears behind, take the ball out of Forte's hands and go to work on Cutler's psyche. Could be fun!

im wondering if rodgers will use his frienship he has with cutler in order to try to get into his head, should b a great test to the pack new 3-4 D. Go pack!!

It's just finally kicking in that the season is starting. Man it feels good. Feels. Good.

Better qb, better wr, better OL, better Dl (Harris is probably injuried), better secondary... And with the new scheme, we might as well have the better LB corps. How are they gonna win? I'm nervous. On paper, I honestly believe the Packers are a better team. But, preseason performance has caused expectations to rise beyond what is justified. It was preseason. Let's take a look at things after 2-3 games, none bigger than the first. I'm nervous.

I did the Super Bowl Buzz Kill for the Packers and Bears.

That was actually a very, very good article, bucky. And classy. Of course, you know all those things you said, except for Crosby, who sucks big time BTW, are going to produce, but it was, after all, a Buzz Kill segment. The bears piece was pretty good too.

I'm always nervous before a Bear Game. I hate the damn Bears! I think the outcome is decided by four things:

1. Mason Crosby-he better wake the hell up. He was god awful in the pre-season. And don't blame Martin for any problems except the first kick in that game.

2. Oline especialy one matcheup in particular, Barbre Vs. Ogunleye (sp). If Barbre can keep him off Rodgers, the offensive outlook is very positive. I like the Clifton vs. Brown, Colledge vs. Adams and Sitton Vs. Harris are ok for the Packers. Harris is playing at 80% according to the Bear media. Spitz will have to handle Urlacher or briggs a lot and I think he'll do ok.

3. Injuries in the Defensive Backfiel. We have a problem with Bigby at one safety already. Any injury there will free up Olsen and that will be a bad thing.

4. There must be pressure on Cutler every play. At the same time, they can't forget Forte. He can run and catch and could be a problem all day. Maybe Barnett can tail him everywher he goes.

So, I will predict a win because the Bears are not good enough to handle Finley stretching the field. He could have a really good day. The Bear media is paranoid over Jennings and Driver, but no talk about the other receivers. Good, that is good for the Packers.

But in all actuality, I haven't felt this good about a PACKER squad in probably a decade (most of my buddies are bear fans, I'm taking all bets, only been 2 takers). There's a calmness ruminating through the Fitzpatrick home this week, a sense of... KNOWING! I firmly believe we have the BETTER ATHLETES/COACHING, BIGGER HEART, and last but not least... HUGE HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE (that's right... IT'S BACK BABY). I DO NOT see the GREEN BAY PACKERS starting this season 0-1... got the schedule right here as a matter of fact, a 6-0 start is a definite possibility!
