Shields, Dietrich-Smith Drop Out of Friday's Practice
#Packers practice: Neal and Jolly returned but no Shields, Perry, Mulumba, EDS, Barclay, Rodgers or Hayward
— Wes Hodkiewicz (@WesHod) November 15, 2013
Both Shields and Dietrich-Smith practiced earlier this week; it is unknown why they sat out of practice on Friday. Mike McCarthy will speak to the press after practice and will hopefully provide some information.

Sounds like EDS will be playing. That is huge. I think they can get by without Barclay if he doesn't play, but EDS to me is the most important player to play.
That keeps 4 of their 5 starters intact, and only replacing Barclay at RT. If EDS misses then you have only 2 positions intact and have 3 new starters at least to what positions they play.
EDS is huge for them to play..

Looks like you might have to change your name. It's time for Micah Hyde to play some HydeandSeek!! They are going to need him this game big time if Shields is out.

I hope sherrod starts and not newhouse

No chance. But Sherrod will be the primary/sole backup if Barclay can't go. Either due to injury or Newhouse's ineffectiveness, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get snaps this week.

They have 3 solid wrs.....we need shields in a big way. Hyde is solid but...seing him against Randle or Cruz...eek.

Shields is probable. He was held out some last week too. Just being safe, I imagine.

If I was Shields and has to cover Cruz or Nicks, I would fake an injury too. Heck if Seneca can pretend he has an injury that can't be confirmed, Sheilds can too.
Isn't Shields up for a new contract next year?
Ya he ain't playing against these guys and getting burned, his new contract of lack of one may go up in flames!!!!!!

Dont worry about our secondary ted sign a rb that could play safety.dont forget we still have bush.jennigs and mcmillan.

Yes our defensive backs will be awesome against Nicks and Cruz. I don't expect them to have career days against the vaunted pack defense.
I don't expect Eli to stand in that very nice pocket of protection and complete pass after pass after pass.
He did this the last two times we played him, so it just stands that our revamped pass rush with Datone the crusher Jones, and Mathews, I don't have a club now, will totally dominate these guys.
Throw in the passing of Scott Tolzien who now has an entire week of that great passing scheme of MM and were good to go baby.
