    McCarthy made good halftime adjustments.

    • MarkinMadison says:

I agree with Game Plan being in the bad. McCarthy agrees that he should have made adjustments sooner. We are all ticked about what went down with the refs, expecially on the last two defensive series. At the end of the day though, the answer is score more points. It would not have taken much. The first half the offense was just a mess. Maybe the Packers can trade for Philbin.

      • SHODAN says:

But the Packers DID score more points. If you accept that the Packers allowed a legitimate touchdown on the last play of the game, then your point has some validity. The near-consensus from damn near everyone is that the result of the final play was an interception by M.D. Jennings. Our guys scored 12 points, theirs scored 7.

The first half gameplan was painful to watch, no doubt at all. But to say that the Packers didn’t do enough to win this game doesn’t hold water in this case. They did enough to win, and still lost. And obviously I’m speaking only for myself.

        • IowaPackFan says:

Yeah – I am getting tired of the “if you didn’t let Rodgers get sacked 9 times, you would’ve won”, etc. arguments.

That’s the beauty with football. You can play a horseshit game until the very end and man up and make a play when you need to and get the win. It doesn’t have to be pretty! A win should be a win period. The Packers did what they needed to do when they needed to do it, and they got screwed. Everything else is meaningless.

        • MarkinMadison says:

“Score more points” means if you had scored more than you did, then the refs could not have stolen the game. Call whatever you want meaningless all you want. At the end of the day, the Packers are still stuck with an “L.”

  2. overkill says:

Still gnawing chunks off desk, listening to ESPN Milwaukee.
    He did, Phil.

  3. mark says:

I’m just sick listening to those Seahawks praise the call last night and today. Here is what I hope for the 2012 Green Bay Packers football team…

I want another shot at the Seattle Seahawks. I want to see them in the playoffs, and I want to beat the ever-living sh!t out of them. Every game from here on out should be about revenge. I hope this team plays with a new level of focus and rage. Clay rage. And once we beat the Seahawks, then we stick it to Goodell who hands us back our trophy.

I really hope yesterday becomes a rallying cry for this team. Double down on your prep, double down in practice, double down on your film study. One week at a time, just win. And if the Seahawks are in our way come playoff time, we murder them.

    • dullgeek says:

I suspect that when the regular refs come back and start calling down field penalties more consistantly, the Packers passing game will magically return.

And then we’ll see if other teams corners can defend 18, 85, 87, 88, 89. OTOH we’ll probably also see whethe or not the Packer D is actually improved.

    • cow42 says:

      i just don’t think they’re talented enough.

wr’s aren’t strong enough for underneath stuff.

ol isn’t sound enough to allow for deep stuff.

focus and effort is one thing.

      talent is quite another.

      • PackerBacker says:

        I don’t know what game you’re watching. Can’t be the one’s I’ve seen.

      • Sizzle says:

cow42, you are an idiot. every post you have written over the last two days has no validity. you are cleary not watching the same team or same games everyone else on here has been watching. have they been as crisp as everyone would hoped? not at all. this team has a ton of talent, and im sure you are blind to it but that includes the rookies on D that have played outstanding the last two games. im sure in 2010 you thought that team didnt have any talent either after a slow start, and losses to teams they should have never lost too. its way to early to be bitter and negative about this team. go find some other team to and spew your negativity about them. GB will be there in the end with every chance to be as special as 2010

    • tundraboy says:

from your lips to god’s ear. Except ignore Goodell and just walk off field at end. They can send the trophy to the lockeroom and f the media too

  4. Not “Ugly,” that should say “Fugly.”

  5. Idiot Fan says:

There were good things from CB, but you cannot get the “Good” award if you fumble on your 5-yard line when trying to run out the clock, up by five.

  6. Tundrabum says:

Ugly = The kind of day Goodell’s image consultant is having.

  7. PackerBacker says:

I thought Sam Shields played a good game too. He always seemed to be in the right position. Other than getting F’d on two offensive interference calls he played good football. He even came up in run support nicely.

  8. Rocky70 says:

The offense is obviously offensive & I’m still not convinced that the “D” has done a turnaround from 2011 (Brees & a desperate Saints team may help define the Packer “D” come Sunday).

IMHO, GB has many issues that go way beyond having a game robbed from you by a bunch of incapable replacement refs. MM, his staff & especially the players need to quickly drop the “victim complex” & focus on playing better football OR this season may be lost sooner rather than later.

    • jbovegas73 says:

Players & staffers are not ‘playing the victim’ here … Stop projecting the emotions of some fans onto them. Furthermore, most of us fans are not ‘playing the victim’ either, we’re pissed off.

      • Rocky70 says:

Great 1st post. —- Unfortunately, you’re not thinking, just reacting. You can do that because you have no affect on anything (just another fan) but the players need to adjust to a difficult situation & quick. Distractions are still the biggest impediment for any NFL team. (next to a lack of talent)

        • Bearmeat says:

Rocky – you and Cow should hang out. You’ll really enjoy each others company.

          • cow42 says:

keep sticking your head in the sand…
keep telling yourself… “the Packers will be fine. THIS is the week that the offense starts clicking”.

            this offense is D.E.A.D.

            been figured out.

the d better be for real, cuz games of scoring 20+ points will be few and far between for this fancy-pants “offense”.

          • SHODAN says:

Erm… cow? Weren’t you saying the same thing last year? And the year before? And… like, every single year, regardless of whether what you’re saying has any basis in reality?

          • cow42 says:

i didn’t rip the offense last year but i was screaming all season that the Packers were missing something… that their record was masking huge problems… and guess what?

        • Rocky70 says:

Actually, cow42 has been ‘spot on’ on many occasions in the past.
He’s not afraid to view the Pack without the ‘rose-colored glasses’ that too many use here. — Some who post here need to take “NFL 101″ (or return to soccer).

  9. KurtMc says:

    Two things happen next Sunday.

    1. Over reaction by replacements. Expect even more flags.
    2. Every D coach tells players to push the limit, even to taking a penalty. The game returns to 70′s NFL
    3. Vegas, who lost 250 million, finds the replace field refs. Tony pays a call.

  10. jbovegas73 says:

There is NO Packers player acting the victim … Stop projecting fans’ reactions on the players or staff. Furthermore, us fans are not acting tthe victim, either … We’re pissed off.

  11. lebowski says:

I don’t even know what the hell to think about Bulaga anymore. It’s like having Barbre back all over again.

  12. D B H says:

I heard a local news show trying to defend the call using the OJ case and “shred of doubt” argument. Since there is a .0001% chance Tate did have control the whole time, the call *should* stand.

I fng hate the NFL right now. We’re not even talking about FOOTBALL anymore!!! It’s the fng olympic sport of amatuer officiating!!!

  13. Jamie says:

As terrible as the offense was in the first half, we should give them credit for coming out in the second half, while the WRs continued to be beat to a pulp (physically) all over the field and the Oline was beaten like mannequins the first half, AND THEY DID NOT BLINK.

The amount of adversity they faced would have crushed most teams.

To come out the second half and put it to a team that had every advantage imaginable, and even some we couldn’t fathom, fighting back to EARN the win…is commendable.

    • Rocky70 says:

      Could you get anymore ridiculous?
What exactly are you even talking about ??
Me thinks your attempt at dramatics, embellishment
& exaggeration has failed. Please, reality is mostly good.

  14. Rodgerdat says:

Why are you haters even on here? We support our team no matter what. Quit bringing us down with your negativity and crappy assumptions. 3 games don’t define anyone. And please don’t go run and hide when Pack explode and prove you wrong. I want you to read and eat every single word. Go Pack Go!

    • cow42 says:

the Packers are fine. the offense is fine. the defense is fixed. when the Packers play bad it is not their fault. when the Packers lose is is not because they have deficiencies, it is because they didn’t play up to their ultimately superior level. they will win next week. they will win every week. they will win the Super Bowl.

    • 2 share owner says:

Cow and Rocky are the same person.

  15. RC Packer Fan says:

How about for good. The defense… They have been quietly very good this year. While the offense hasn’t gotten going yet, the defense has been keeping them in games. I am extremely impressed with how good the rookies have been. Jeron McMillan has impressed me alot. Also Casey Heyward seems to be really gaining ground. Sam Shields looks to be back to his 2010 version.
Once this offense gets going, look out.

  16. tundraboy says:

    Good

    McMillan, Shields as well

    Ugly

Seahawks DB who slugged jennings Browner I think
    Dirtbag Pete Carrol

    Gutless,Clueless, Incompetant blind refs

    Dirtbag Rice

  17. Lou says:

McCarthy approached this game and the 49er game as if it was supposed to be a 7 on 7 passing drill in camp, he needs a dose of reality and we need to determine how much the offense misses Philbin. Cudo’s to Jones who finally played up to his build, physical against the bump and run with Shields doing the same on the other side of the ball. Cudo’s also to McMillian and Hayward, with House on the mend a position of question now looks strong. Bulaga looked like Tony Mandarich, knocked on his butt, what happened to the guy we used to see at RT ?
