Hanadel Doesn\’t Know What He\’s Talking About
By Aaron Nagler on Jan 22, 2008 with 3 Comments
We here at CheeseheadTv understand that when it comes to internet coverage of the Packers, we’re the young pups compared to the old hound dog’s like Railbird Central and Packer Chatters. But like this Packers’ team, we’re getting better with every play/post. And some of the old dogs are slipping.
How else to explain the absurdity that is the last two paragraphs of this ‘op-ed’ by Scott Hanadel over at Packer Chatters? In and of itself, the piece is solid, if not spectacular. He says a few things I actually agree with. And then there are the last two paragraphs, which are utterly ridiculous. It’s as though Packer Chatters went trolling through a bar late Sunday night handing out free laptops and asked people to write their reactions to Sunday’s loss, and they picked Mr. Hanadel’s drunken rantings for their unbelievable sheer stupidity. (Ok, that’s not entirely fair. As I said, the beginning isn’t bad, and I agree with him about the fact that the Packers are a finesse team rather than a blood and guts team. But come ON…)
Questioning Mike McCarthy’s coaching is the prerogative of any fan. I understand. But this is egregious on so many levels:
Just for future reference coach McCarthy, your job is to create a game plan and then adjust accordingly in a way that gives your team a realistic chance not only to compete but to win.
Wow. Really Scott? That, my friend, is why you are a star internet pundit. You show your genius in so many different ways, not the least of which is to call out a man who began his coaching career as a volunteer while he worked nights in a freekin’ toll booth. Literally. And you, Mr. Hanadel, obviously know all there is to know about the formulation of game plans, what with your many years of watching football on your couch while drinking beer and yelling at the television.
Was that over the top?
I apologize to Mr. Hanadel and to Packer Chatters if it does, indeed, turn out that he once had a promising coaching career derailed by a personal tragedy. Somehow I doubt it. The only tragedy here is Packer Chatters and their staff giving coaching tips to a man who took the Packers to the NFC Championship when no one expected them to win 7 games at the beginning of the season.
UPDATE: Over at his BIO page, Mr. Hanadel lists his many accomplishments, which consist mostly of talking about sports and playing fantasy football. Clearly, I underestimate what an expert he is in the world of coaching football.

Well said. Internet access is cheap…so are computers. Any idiot can post anything.
I’m hoping that, like “spam firewalls”, someone comes up with a “stupidity firewall”. So far there is nothing on the horizon. *sigh*
I couldn’t even read any of that dude’s article. what an amateur. I mean.wtf? It’s just totally unnecessary.
