Rodgers Reportedly Recovering From Knee Surgery

ESPN reports the Packers quarterback had a scope to clean up an old injury.

Wilde and Demovsky have the goods:

From their post:

One source described the surgery as a minor scope and a "cleanup of an old injury."

Rodgers told ESPN that he is "doing well" and "recovering on schedule."

It's unclear when Rodgers' knee became an issue this past season, but he was hit on his left knee by Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah on Nov. 15. After the game, Rodgers described the hit as "a little low" and said he was sore. The following week, the Packers listed Rodgers on the injury report, but for his shoulder, not the knee.

It was the only week that Rodgers was listed with an injury. He played in all but 10 of the Packers' offensive snaps this past season and did not miss any practice time because of the knee.

It will be interesting to see how much this development colors the off-season discussion of Rodgers' worst year as a starter since 2008.

He certainly stepped into the Hail Mary vs. Detroit. But, yeah, hopefully the knee will be 100% and he can go back to spoiling us.

Certainly didn't get the time to run into that throw against AZ. For all arm, it was quite a throw.

The only thing that's surprising about this is that it's not his throwing shoulder.

I would not be surprised to learn that this was not the only injury that Rodgers played through this season. He never looked the same to me after the hit that he took early in the Denver game where he grimaced in pain as he was getting up. Given how often he was hit this season we were fortunate that he made it through the season. Thanks, Since '61

Guess this is the reason his accuracy was off kilter.Gotta think the bum knee was screwing up his throwing mechanics. He still made some great throws. He connected on Two Hail Mary's in one season, OutStanding. I' am looking forward to Next Year!

You promised us you would never come back and you broke that promise.

"It was fun while it lasted," you said? Sorry but you have never had a moment of fun in your entire life.

You have zero credibility.

Your predictions almost never come true and your sole purpose here at this website is to make it a negative experience for well intended fans who come here to talk about Packer football.

I look forward to when the administrators of this site catch on to your latest name incarnation and boot you again....

Go away and never come back Gollum.

When a team puts out their injury report for the upcoming game are they obligated to put all injuries. Why have an injury report if the team is not required to list all the injuries. I am little confused on how this works.

The Colts are also confused about this.

I think they really only need to list injuries as they impact practice time and the likelihood that a player will participate in an upcoming game. If this injury never really was a threat to putting him on the bench, I think they were at least following the letter of the injury report rules.

I think the speed with which he did something about this (immediately after the season vs. several weeks) tells us something about how it was bothering him or how much time they figure he's going to need to get back to 100%.

This team is as close to winning it all as anyone. The 2 teams left standing are basically the healthiest. Health has nothing to do with trainers and conditioning, it comes down to bad luck with injuries. The NFL is a copy cat league, so if one team had a better way of reducing injuries every team would do it. Last year the Packers were healthy and a play away from going to the SB.

"There are so many holes on this roster"
Translation:
GB does not start 22 ALL-Pro's, with another 11 on the bench.

Come to think of it, I can think of a roster that really DOES have one big ---HOLE on it.

Anyone know the roster I'm referring to?
Anyone?
Anyone?

Bueller?

For all the negative comments, do you realize how beat up the o-line was and Rodgers still finished with a 31/8 td/int mix? Some NFL QB's will never finish with a ratio that high.

Cam had a 34/10 mix with a lower completion percentage and I know his running abilities are great but look at the media hype for him right now.

31 TDs to 8 INTs, 92.7 passer rating, 10-6 record with playoff berth and playoff win.

Not horrible by any standards.

Go get yourself help.

It's not "hype" when he's actually playing good and has helped lead his team to the Super Bowl. Give credit when credit is due.

I don't know how someone dislikes this comment. It's spot on...if not this offseason, the next two. TT will not let this roster get old...regardless of what someone else has previously said. Currently, the number of players on the roster over 30 is pretty low.

In September of 2018 (that's two full seasons from now), I legitimately believe there will be 4 new starters on the OL, a new starter at RB, and at least 1/3 if not half of the defensive starters will turn over. That's just the way of the modern NFL.

Cow,

Why are you even here?

Go spend time with your wife, kids, and family.
Go do something you ENJOY, not something that makes you (and others) sad, disappointed, upset, disgusted.

Go find something positive for yourself, and stop going out of your way to make yourself and everyone here miserable.

You've hit on it right here: he ENJOYS coming in here and egging people on. Every time anyone responds to him in any way, it just makes him want to come back in here more. People can point to whatever promise he made at some point to go away, but it's clear he has no intention of honoring that promise as he keeps resurfacing over and over (or some wannabe does).

Since we as regulars here can't seem to resist his prodding, we just need to get used to his presence.

Cow, You are the biggest jackass posting here. You are just here to stir the pot so to speak. You said the pack wouldn't win a playoff game and they came so close to the championship game without the top 4 WRs. Honor your bet with LVT and tell everybody you were dead wrong. Honor all your other statements and get the hell out of here asswipe. I wonder if chtv can handle 10,000 dislikes or if it flips over to zero like an old car. You are less than 800 away buddy.
