Reported Breakthrough In Talks Between League and Players
ESPN reports a breakthrough in talks Saturday afternoon that supposedly lays the groundwork for the league to lift its four month lockout later this week.

From John Clayton and Chris Mortensen:
Major breakthroughs in Saturday's discussions between NFL owners and players has set up a timetable for both sides to resolve their 130-day labor dispute, sources said.
Owners tentatively agreed Saturday to a players-recommended plan for the NFL Players Association to bring players into team facilities starting as early as Wednesday to physically vote on whether to recertify the current trade association as a union, a source said. Progress in other talks with the owners has put the players' 11-member executive committee in a position to have a vote Monday to recommend accepting the 10-year collective bargaining agreement.
Following this report, Adam Schefter posted this on his Twitter account:
Welcome back, football.
Which was shortly followed by this from Chris Mortensen:
I'm talking football!!!!
I'm not ready to say anything other than ESPN sure seems to think the lockout is almost over.

Now that I'm convinced the NFL season won't be interrupted this is as good a time as any to predict when the Packers will visit the White House. I predict Friday Sept 9th, the day after they beat the Saints. It wouldn't affect training camp and the Packers will have 10 days off before their second game.
If I were MM I wouldn't announce it to anyone including the players til after the game in the lockeroom..."Tomorrow's practice has been changed, it will be at the White House."
Sidebar---The NFL would love it b/c they would get free publicity heading into opening weekend.

Each day the lockout gets a little bit closer to being "almost over," yet each day the lockout still remains...
