Even though I'm not thrilled about the Packers signing Flynn.........I could become thrilled if I heard Flynn was getting some of the younger guys together like Myles White, Chris Harper, Jonathan Franklin, Tretter, etc and having voluntary workouts at his house (gym) in TX or Louisianna or wherever he lives.

1. Why not be thrilled? What's not to like?

2. Why would optional workouts thrill you? What is this, 2011?

I've already posted numerous times on what's not to like. Maybe you can enlighten me on what is to like.

It's not 2011, but if you recall, the Packers didn't even have enough receivers on the 46/53 man roster last year due to injuries. Younger players that you never think will step on the field besides special teams seem to be stepping on the field a lot. So any extra work they can get in off season would seem like a good thing to me. Apparently you don't feel the same.

It sure doesn't hurt when your running back runs for 153 yards--Dallas-32nd ranked defense

It sure doesn't help when your running back runs for 44 yards-Giants-8th ranked defense

It's pretty common for beginner fans not to look at quality of opponent when evaluating. Oh well, I tried to help you see the light. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'em drink.

Pretty glad they brought him back, I was hoping it'd be for more than a single year though.

4thand1, What do you think is GB's thinking on Scott Tozein. Do you think MM & TT want him as their long term solution to the back-up QB LVT

Hard to say Tom. Its going to depend on training camp and pre-season. He'll get every opportunity to prove himself. He has a strong arm but playing QB at the NFL level is the hardest position in sports. Its his to lose IMO. I think he'll be on a much shorter leash than Coleman and Harrell.

4thand1, I don't think Coleman & Harrel even compare to Tolzein. I personally was surprised that he didn't light it up when they called on him. It looked like he was on his way, when everything went South. The wheels came off. I'm being honest, I expected much better. No question, the pressure got to him, but Jorden was Right. He was thrown into the Fire. I hope he gets an equal chance with Flynn & the same unit this preseason. Something tells me GB wants him around. If Flynn only got a 1 year deal, I think that say's alot about his future. Maybe I'm wrong? I like both Flynn & Tolzein. It would be nice if they could both stay, but it's hard to imagine that happening. I would absolutely agree that Flynn looked better last year, & deserves the Nod this preseason. It would not surprise me though, if Tolzein wins the job. LVT

One year for Flynn seems right to me. He's not young and developing any more. Flynn gives them an acceptable baseline floor. Far better than what they had at this time last year with Graham Harrell. But I hope they shoot for better. The "Wolf Way" of drafting a QB every year produced some busts but they were usually in far better shape at backup QB during those years. Many times they flipped the original investment for a better pick after getting the benefit of using them as backups.

I'd like to see them draft a guy on day 3 of the draft to add to Tolzein as younger, developmental players. Keep the best 2 behind Rodgers.
