Report: Kevin Dorsey and Jarvis Reed Waived Injured
Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com shared a couple of reports on Twitter Tuesday afternoon...
Looks like Kevin Dorsey and Jarvis Reed were waived/injured, per the NFL transaction wire

And it looks like Giorgio Tavecchio wasn't waived until today, along with Ramirez. So we won't know if he's claimed until tomorrow.

It was perhaps surprising to see rookie wide receiver Kevin Dorsey waived just because the Packers had invested a seventh round draft choice into him, but Dorsey had barely practiced in either of the offseason or training camp with a variety of injuries.
After finally seeing his first game against last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Dorsey dropped out of practice once again this week with a toe injury.
The Packers could have stashed him on injured reserve and see what kind of player they have next season when he's healthy, but obviously a lot of other young wide receivers have performed well this summer and perhaps the Packers felt more comfortable attempting to develop them.
Dorsey and Reed will likely receive injury settlements.
Demovsky also tweeted that defensive lineman Gilbert Pena had been claimed on waivers by the New England Patriots.

Can Dorsey be brought back to the practice squad or since he was waived for injury reasons, are they not allowed to sign him?

Once he clears waivers they could resign him. The surprise is that they didn't IR a seventh round pick. I'm not sure what their thinking is on this one.

Who thinks Pena will make All-Pro for New England?

If he was going to be that, we would've seen it during camp. There is always next year though.

I'll be very surprised if he turns out to be Vince Wilfork II. I too was surprised they didn't stash Dorsey and take another look next year.

OK so I'm missing something, why wasn't he and the other guy just cut. Let go. Can't you cut someone who is injured?

I hear the Lions cut that kicker who was on You Tube and he has a very strong leg but they let him go. Lets give the guy a try. Oh, vcan't didn't cut enough people to leave a spot open 74.
