Report: Cardinals Sign Former Packers LB Desmond Bishop

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today:

Bishop played for the Packers from 2007 to 2011 and was a member of the Super Bowl XLV team before being released last offseason following a torn hamstring.

Signed by the Vikings to a one-year contract, Bishop played in just four games before tearing his ACL and landing on injured reserve. His expiring contract made him a free agent.

It's good to see that Desmond is in someone's camp. Just getting in football shape and getting some reps has to help him. I hope he makes the Cardinals and he knocks the snot out of the 49ers and Seahawks. If he has a bad game against the Packers, that would be fine too....

I live in the Phx/Scottsdale/Chandler area and heard they signed him end of last week. The Cards ILB is FAR worse than the Packers. Lost Dansby, Washington suspended and their 2nd rd pick last year Minter was a bust as a rookie. He's likely their best ILB, so unless he makes a HUGE jump in play, the Cards are REALLY hurting. Bishop is coming off a ruptured, not torn, ruptured hamstring and subsequent ACL. If there was a team he MIGHT make its the Cards. But I doubt he has anything to offer and is really likely to suffer another injury to the hammy or some other related area.

If we cut Jones, Lattimore or Barrington, the Cards would be looking at them as starters very quickly!

Bishop is hanging on by a thread!
