A steal - considering Jaguars gave 28-year-old, Jeremy "9 career starts" Parnell $6.4 million per year, Bulaga would have easily eclipsed $8 mil on the open market.

It's a steal for the Packers if he stays healthy. He allowed 4 sacks last year - second most on the starting line, but about half of what Bakh allowed (7). Otherwise, it's a steal for Bulaga - one I'm sure he'd be happy to live without.

If you compare contracts to other bad deals signed by perennially bad teams, you're destined to join them in being perennially bad.
Based on reports, Bulaga got less than he wanted and more than the Packers wanted to pay him. That's usually the sign of a fair deal.

He's missed almost 2 years on his initial deal. Good player when healthy. We shall see.

We still don't know the exact details of the contract. $3.6 million and $5.6 million cap hits in 2015 and 2016. Looks like Bulaga got an $8 million signing bonus. Not clear is the roster and workout bonuses, and whether they're guaranteed. At the moment, he got 23.7% guaranteed. I was calling for 30% or less due to his injury history. So far, it looks very team friendly.

Details are out there.
I'm not sure I'd go so far as to call it "team friendly" given Bulaga's injury history. But there are relatively high per game roster bonuses that offer some level of protection for the Packers if Bulaga fails to stay healthy.
My take-away after seeing the exact breakdown is that it seems like a fair contract if Bulaga performs as he did in 2014, both in availability and effectiveness. The outer years do see a significant cap number but if the cap continues to rise and Bulaga performs, it is doable.

Hank - I think you're cheaper than TT!
This is outstanding - way below market.
