Report: A Half Dozen Teams Are Interested in TE Jermichael Finley

Free agent tight end Jermichael Finley reportedly has a half-dozen teams interested in him, according to a report from Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report:

I can tell you there are a good half-dozen teams in quiet pursuit. Finley is a guy some teams see as an explosive force, but they want to examine that surgically repaired contusion on his spine.

The belief around the sport is a contending team will sign him for minimal money, and then he'll be a star.

After the Seattle Seahawks reportedly dropped out of the running for the injured tight end, there wasn't much previously known about Finley's potential suitors outside of the Packers and the New England Patriots.

UPDATE: Later on Wedneday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the Oakland Raiders have also expressed interest in Finley.

The Raiders' interest is notable for the connection with general manager Reggie McKenzie, a former Packers front office executive.

Since taking over the Raiders, McKenzie has signed several former Packers including James Jones and C.J. Wilson this offseason.

Every where he's been so far hasn't panned out for him. Maybe his agent is demanding to much?

So Raiders, Patriots, Steelers and Packers are the knowns, my guess is the other 2 are the Giants and maybe Atlanta after losing Gonzo to retirement.

I would like to see GB re-sign him for a maximum of 4 million if hes healthy and active for 16 games. Put in an injury clause that would slice his compensation in half should he end up on IR again.

I'd bet Miami and KC, too - anywhere with GB ties.
