Raji Accuses Falcons Linemen Of Cheap Shots

B.J. Raji accused the Atlanta offensive line of taking cheap shots because of "lack of ability"

Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji had a few choice words for the Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman and their style of play.

Here's Raji speaking with WBAY's Mike Fink about why the Falcons have to resort to what Raji called "cheap shots":

One, that's how they're coached and two, lack of ability. Most OL, the better OL, don't have time for that -- they do (their) job between the whistles and when it is over with they go back to the huddle. These guys, on the other hand, take it to a whole different level. They just want to get you fired up and get you to retaliate and draw a cheap penalty, but it's tough to ignore it, but you have a chance to get them back and have to take advantage of it.

What already promised to be a chippy affair just got taken to the next level.

Maybe it's because our old rivals (Bears/Vikes) aren't as good anymore, so we needed a new one.

He made the same comment about Daryn Colledge. It was accurate then, and it's accurate now.

How many players out there are really wired like Aaron Rodgers where they internalize a perceived (or manufactured) slight and use it for motivation? To be more specific, controlled aggression where his emotions stay in check but he becomes hyper-focused on his performance?

That's a rarity. I'm guessing most either care less about bulletin board material or they let un-checked aggression control their game and play sloppy, out of control ball.

I don't know if it's true or not, did not notice when we played them.

What I do know is that the POW icon is awesome.

We need a "WHOOSH!" for next time Cobb returns a kick and scores.

Love it. Raji wouldn't say it if they weren't taking cheap shots. If a guy's giving you a cheap shot and you kick his ass, you should let him know.

Get your popcorn ready for Sunday night!

I dont so much mind the back and forth between our players and the Falcons, but I wish it would all die down. Seems a little classless from the Packer organization. But whatev... as long as the performance on the field keeps up with our talk then I wont mind a bit.

I have a suspicion that A-Rod (and the whole packer team) is insanely fired up for this game. It seems like they despise the Falcs.

I agree, but I don't like the idea of giving them a lot of billboard material. (Referring to QB1's response to Roddy White as well as Raji's comments.)

This is absolutely ridiculous that people call this a classless move -- the (somewhat) trash talking. The Packers aren't the Jets -- We talk big, but we back it up all the way, every single time we do. Rivalries and trash talking has been part of the NFL for decades, so get over it guys. It makes the game more fun to watch.

So many rules favoring the offense. It may be that the Steelers pointed this out after the Baltimore game, and Raji is pointing this out now to get more refs to watch the line o' scrim for dangerous chipping. Might as well get it in the refs head before the game that these guys are going for cheapshots, rather than after the fact like the Steelheads. I'll take offensive penalties by these guys all day long.

I wish our guys would just focus on the game and quit with the talking. I would prefer we let Roddy White run his big mouth rather than our guys dig us into a hole.
