Quick Note For Mike McCarthy

Tackle Forrest Gregg is 74, but he giggles over the phone when recalling how Lombardi would have the offensive line out in the coldest weather, trying to move a blocking sled that was frozen to the tundra. When they would fall to their knees in futility, Lombardi would bark, “You guys are just feeling sorry for yourselves.”

I wish I’d asked Fuzzy Thurston about practicing outside when I met him a few weeks ago (I was too busy grinning and calling him Mr. Thurston). Bet he would have giggled too.

‘Comment’ not necessary…Forrest Gregg said it all. WWVLD (What Would Vince Lombardi Do)? Well, now we know. If McCarthy hopes to be LomCarthy, he will make sure the blocking sled is nice and frozen-down next year.

Now that Mike Wahle’s available, did you think the Pack might be interested in signing him to shore up the offensive line?

Wahle signed with Seattle a few days ago. Not that big a deal - he’s on the downside of his career anyway. Think the Packers could do much better.
