Quick Hits: Cowboys

Alex's first take on the Packers Cowboys highlights.

I am cautiously optimistic that the Packers are going to roll in this one. However, it's been a little too quiet for me.

Here's how it actually went down.

Gameday Conditions: Watching on the big screen with my wife on her birthday. Limited computer access. Dinner was homemade thin crust pizza.

Quick Hits

First Half

Nice to come out with a stop right away.

Smart by the Packers to have Nelson shadow Jones in case he fumbles. Great coaching.

How the hell did Peprah get instantly good?

Sam Shields. Speechless.

Happy to see Quinn Johnson on the field. Let's see if he makes a difference.

Next play: Johnson gets blown up. Not joking.

It's going to get a lot harder for me to pull the Brandon Jackson bandwagon this week. Might have to hire someone.

Dear Aaron: I like when you think you're Kuhn, but you are not. Out of bounds please.

I hate Collinsworth more than stepping on a fresh squish nugget.

Brandon Jackson thinks you suck.

Wade Philips is dumb.

One defensive stop away from a near perfect looking half. Nice.

Dumb Internet Comment of the Half: "No big deal on the blocked kick, it looked like he was going to miss it anyway."

Second Half

Tim Mathay is feeling the Packer Transplants bump.

James Jones or Jordy Nelson? Do we have an answer yet?

Nick Collins did not intentionally hit Williams with his helmet.

Josh Sitton should be in the Pro Bowl. Period.

The T-formation with three fullbacks. Insane amount of beef.

Hate me if you must, but I hate the Kuhn chant.

Welcome back Atari Bigby.

Clay Matthews will be your DPOY.

The Cowboys were losing so bad they didn't bother to challenge. Humiliating.

Aaron Rodgers heard you. Loud and clear.

Dumb Internet Comment of the Half: "They need to bench James Jones right now."

MVP

Aaron Rodgers

Final Thoughts

I'll admit I thought we would win convincingly, but, this was my Mom walked in on me while I was meeting with crusty the sock embarrassing.

They talk a lot about peaking at the right time around these parts. I think the Packers are right on schedule.

What the hell am I going to do next week?

"this was my Mom walked in on me while I was meeting with crusty the sock embarrassing."

Possible phrase of the year.

Nice to know I wasn't the only one with a 'Happy Sock'.

Was anyone else worried Clay was gonna blow a tire on that INT?

Overall awesome way to go into a bye.

Jarrett Bush, anyone?

I admit to hating him, but he had TWO outstanding plays tonight; not to mention solid play the last couple of games.

Note: he can't blitz, per 4th quarter film.

I'll admit, I always like when Bush plays decent. There are plenty of jagoff players in the NFL to 'hate', he always seemed to tune out the criticism and keep plugging along, making the team, getting a little better. Good for him.

Really, Alex... between you and Jersey Al, the Pack fans aren't going to have many cheers left!

The "They're not booing, it just sounds like the guy's name" cheer/chant was clever back in '90 when the Cowboys fans cheered on MOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE Johnston. Now it's just hackneyed.

Then again, after Bill Simmons' trip to Lambeau, he did say Wisconsin was straight out of the '80's, with a lack of gym's, deep fried food everywhere, and people still doing the wave at the stadium.

Understatement of the year: The Cowboys will not be representing the NFC in Superbowl XLV, scheduled for February 6, 2011 @ Cowboys Stadium
