Pick-6: Packers 2017 College Draft Prospects to Watch - Week 7

This week I'm going to dive into another SEC matchup that features two very good tight ends that should peak the Packers interest.

Ole Miss vs Arkansas Saturday October 15, 6:00 PM on ESPN Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Evan Engram, TE, Ole Miss- 6'3 227lbs 2015 Stats: 38 REC 464 YDS 12.2 AVG 2 TD

Engram is arguably the best pass catching tight end in the draft class and has been a real weapon for the Ole Miss offense. He's undersized in terms of traditional tight ends go but he makes up for it with elite athleticism. Engram can stretch the seam, break tackles after the catch, and is very good at making contested catches. Engram can take 5 yard routes and turn them into 20+ yard gains. He does need some polish as a blocker and could stand to add some strength to hold up inline in the NFL.

Damore'ea Stringfellow, WR, Ole Miss- 6'2 211lbs 2015 Stats: 36 REC 503 YDS 14.0 AVG 5 TD

Stringfellow has taken over #1 wide receiving duties this year with the departure of Laquon Treadwell and has seized his opportunities. Stringfellow has 20 catches on the year and is averaging over 15 yards per reception. Stringfellow does have some lapses in concentration and ca drop some easy ones but he also makes a few wow plays a game. Should he declare Stringfellow could be a riser amongst this lackluster wide receiver group and hear his name called on day two.

Tony Conner, S, Ole Miss- 6' 225lbs 2015 Stats: 17 TKL (8 solo) 4 TFL (injured)

Conner was a major recruit for Ole Miss 4 years ago and looked to be special his first few years. After sustaining a knee injury last season he's been a bit quiet since his return. At 225lbs Conner can bring a wallop when he hits a player but he's also a bit stiff in his movements. Conner is a solid safety prospect who can play some in the deep part of the field or creep into the box and make plays around the line of scrimmage. Conner will to regain his form he had as a underclassman to get drafted before round four.

Jeremy Sprinkle, TE, Arkansas- 6'6 240lbs 2015 Stats: 27 REC 389 YDS 14.4 AVG 6 TD

Sprinkle has really made a name for himself last season and into the early part of the 2016 season. After playing second fiddle to Hunter henry last year Sprinkle has emerged into a real play maker for the Razorbacks. He's caught four touchdowns already this year in six games and does a nice job in the running game making holes for his running backs. It's a loaded class at tight end this year so Sprinkle may not be an early round pick, but he'll be a good selection for a team in the 3rd-4th round.

Deatrich Wise, DL, Arkansas- 6'5 273lbs 2015 Stats: 31 TKL (17 solo) 10.5 TFL 8 SCK 5 QBH 3 FF 3 PBU

It's going to be difficult for teams who run a 3-4 defense to place Wise in a role. He's got ideal size for a 4-3 defensive end, so a transition to elephant in the Packers defense would be where he fits best. As a player Wise is strong at the point of attack and uses his length well to his advantage. While he isn't explosive as some other edge players in this class he is extremeley disruptive. Wise right now looks to be a day two pick.

Frank Ragnow, C, Arkansas- 6'5 319lbs 2015 Stats: Started all 13 games at Right Guard

Ragnow has been in the news lately and was presented a courage award for playing against Alabama one week after his father passed away. While the tragedy of losing his father is why he's received attention lately Ragnow is a very good football player on the field. Bielma, who has coached several great centers, has another one with Ragnow. He does a nice job moving his feet and getting to the second level in the run game and also a nice job in pass protection. Ragnow is a player worth monitoring this week.

With the exception of Sprinkle, the tight ends mentioned seem a bit small for the NFL tight end position.

Not if you're the Packers, who have a recent history (an unsuccessful one) of bringing in undersized tight ends.

TT won't draft any. Look for at least 2 Rbs. This draft. Also another WR before TE.
