Packers vs.Cardinals Divisional Playoff Game Predictions from CheeseheadTV.com

 GAME PREDICTIONS Week 17

Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals

Name Record   Pick Prediction
Nagler 9-8 Arizona 31-23
Packers fans don't want to believe that what they watched last week was their team start to move the ball against a pretty bad secondary, not a transformative awakening set to catapult them on a Super Bowl run. It won't be the disaster the last matchup was, but it won't be fun
Czech 13-4 Arizona 30-22
The game isn't really as close as the final score, but the Packers do enough to hang around. Unfortunately, they can't punch it in on the game's final drive to give themselves a chance at a game-tying two-point conversion.
Bracco 11-6 Green Bay 22-20
MThe Offensive line will be in much better shape than the last time and there are no gift TDs via turnovers this time. That make it an even game. The difference will be what Mike McCarthy comes up with as an offensive game plan to counteract the press coverage we all know the Packers will see. I'm hoping he strikes gold with a brilliant game plan as he did last year against New England.
Tallitsch 11-6 Green Bay 28-27
I don't really think the Packers are going to win, but I can't bear to pick against them.
Garda 10-7 Arizona 28-14
The Packers surprised the heck out of me last week and I've never been happier to be wrong, but even in the best of circumstances (which this season has not been), I'd be hard pressed to see a Packers win here. The Packers defense is good, but how will they stop a passing offense which can roll out four different receivers all able to beat you at any time? And when that fails, the Cardinals can run rookie David Johnson. Offensively, maybe the Packers can use the hurry up like last time, or maybe they'll have some new tricks, but they face an exceptional defense this week. In the end, they were able to overcome a slow start because Washington was over its skis just making the playoffs. The Cardinals are a much better team and too much for Green Bay to handle.
Behnke 11-6 Green Bay 60-0
Packers roll.
Jennerjohn 11-6 Green Bay 31-30
The Packers couldn’t get out of their own way three weeks ago in Arizona. They committed four turnovers and allowed nine sacks. But last week, even if it was a mere playoff preseason game, was a huge step for a team that had been looking to find itself since destroying Minnesota before Thanksgiving. The defense is playing good enough. The Packers’ front seven can get 36-year-old Carson Palmer on the move and uncomfortable and the secondary will do just enough to stay with the speedy receiving corps. The key however, is Eddie Lacy. He must gain enough yards on first and second down in order to keep the Packers in manageable third down situations. I must be crazy, but I think the Packers will steal the rematch.
Perone 9-8 Arizona 27-17
A closer game this time but the same result as the last meeting.  The Packers are healthier and should avoid the mistakes they made last time but this is still a bad matchup for the Packers.  The Arizona offense is just too much for Green Bay's biggest strength: their defense.
Snowden 11-6 Green Bay 24-21
The Packers defense, hopefully with Sam Shields back, should be able to better contain Arizona's offense this time around. And with a healthier offensive line and a re-confident Aaron Rodgers, the offense should be able to score more than the 8 points they did last time. GO PACK GO!
Albrecht 9-8 Arizona 21-17
The Packers could steal one here against the more talented Cardinals.  Especially true if all injured o- line and cornerbacks are cleared to play. It is the passing game that still has me worried and if Adams is out they are really thin at the WR position.
Reuter 11-6 Green Bay 31-21
I have been through every scenario about this game in my head. Packers get blown out, Packers blow them out. Packers lose close, Packers win close. I keep going back to two prevailing thoughts. The first is that Arizona wins this game in a relatively close fashion, roughly an eight point game that is competitive. The other is that the Packers actually have something now, an identity, and they are feeling so good that they cannot be denied. What the Packers put together the last 2.5 quarters last week is different from what they have been doing all season, I'm going with they catch Arizona off guard and win this game.
Olson 10-7 Arizona 31-20
I expect this game to be more competitive than the Week 16 meeting. However, the Packers offense needs to prove to me that they can build off the performance they had at Washington. In addition, the Packers' pass rush will have to be great against Carson Palmer. Can they generate a pass rush like they did last week?
Hobbes 11-6 Green Bay 27-24
To be honest I can't see any way the Packers win this. The Cardinals are the superior team playing at home. However, the better team doesn't always win (see vs the Giants 2011) so I'm picking the Packers anyways.
Strupp 10-7 Arizona 21-14
Just too hard to trust this offense against a good team, on the road.
Kruse 11-6 Arizona 27-19
The Packers are perfectly capable of rebounding from the first meeting and springing the upset in Arizona. I'm not just confident the offense can put together all the elements required to get it done.

I've been looking for this post for awhile. I don't see the packers winning but I think they give the cardinals more than they bargained for and crazy things can happen in the playoffs. Go pack go!

It's the playoffs and I think the Packers will pull off the upset as will the Seahawks vs Carolina setting up the NFC Championship game in Green Bay. GO PACK, GO!!!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Palmer's lack of playoff success/ experience. We need a lot of things to go right in this game. Palmer needs to be average. Our o line needs to be better. No turnovers. 12 needs to be much better. And our WRs need to get open.

So that's all we need!

This game is frightening. That team is the best we will have played the entire season. Everyone here thinks about the offense having to find its rhythm. I say......to beat them the defense needs to play lights out. It almost worked for the vikes and I personally think we have a better D with more playoff experience than the vikes. It needs to be a low scoring affair. We can limit David Johnson a little better because Raji is back in there (lost him in the first Q last AZ game). I don't think people realize how important that guy is to our run stop and pass rushing.

With that being said. If the D plays out of their mind. Our offense doesn't need to be amazing, they just need two tds and a field goal or two. Turn overs and good special teams play may just be enough. And we will need that because AZ would beat us straight up without a lucky bounce.

Pack 20-17

Side note: if we can't win and we are at least competitive, I do believe AZ is the best team in the NFL right now.

Packers 42
Cardinals 27

Offense puts it together with a healthy line. Defense gets turnovers thanks to the offense rolling and letting them catch their breath. Cardinals collapse under pressure just like they did against Seattle.

Apparently there's a chronic disliker. Strange to dislike people's posts because they want our beloved Packers to win. Must be a disgruntled viking fan.

Stop Johnson, pressure Palmer and hold the Cards to less than 20 points. Pack finds a way to win late. Pack 26 - 17. Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

Bipolar Pack 2015

No inbetween this year: either damn good or brutal.

Just have to come out and score first, D needs a shutdown. Have to have over 125 rushing yards & cut down on dropped passes. Need 4+ Sacks & win the T/O battle.

Gotta get into Palmer's head: he's never won a Playoff Game in 15 seasons.

Do the above better than AZ & Pack win 31-20

2 back sets with 11 personnel and up tempo offense and Packers will move the ball. Defense needs to bring a few 5 and 6 man pressures in Palmer's face to move him off the spot. Got a feeling we may see some firezones from Capers. Turnover free football for the offense and solid defensive play equal a Packer win. I don't usually don't make score predictions but I see a two score win by Green Bay. 27-17

Defensive front 7 needs to win snap after snap for the Packers to have a chance to pull this one out. Head says the Packers won't win, but my heart says, "not so fast, my friend..."

If I'm sick and tired of the Packers being talked about as nothing more than a "Speed Bump" in the Cardinals way, I can only imagine what Rodgers, the O-Line, Defense, and the rest of the team must feel like. I think we surprise a lot of people tonight!

Jayme busts out a "re-confident" to describe #12...awesome! Still think I'll do what I did last week, though, and only watch the defense play. Even if my sister-in-law gets tired of yelling, "You can come up now!"

As much as I'd like to pick GB, I can't. I still don't trust the offense and AZ is a very good, balanced team.

IMO it will take a special teams or defensive score to change the outcome in GBs favor.

AZ 27
GB 17

Speaking of the VI-QUEENS. I had them the 1st game of the year against SF & LOST. At that time big things were expected out of the VI-QUEENS this year. Still can't believe I lost that game. I felt like I was the only person in the world that took Minn in that one.

I'm hoping Minn was better than we've given them credit for this year. They Damn near beat AZ. If we bring our A-GAME, there's no reason why we can't win this one. We are a much much better team than the VI-QUEENS, healthy or not.

I'm off the the Arena. Go Pack!!
