Packers to Host Delaware C Gino Gradkowski

The late round center prospect is reportedly scheduled to meet with the Packers before the 2012 NFL draft.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, University of Delaware center Gino Gradkowski is scheduled to visit with the Green Bay Packers sometime in the near future.

"The younger brother of NFL quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, the 6-foot-2, 300-pounder has upcoming visits with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons," Wilson wrote.

Gradkowski visited with the Baltimore Ravens this past week after meeting with the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles previously.

Gradkowski transfered in 2008 from West Virginia to Delaware, where he was a two-time (2010, 2011) All-CAA conference and one-time ('11) FCS All-American selection. He also played all three interior line positions with the Blue Hens.

According to Wilson, Gradkowski ran the 40-yard dash in 5.25 seconds and put up 29 reps on the 225-pound bench press at his pro day workout last month. He also registered a 28.5-inch vertical leap, an 8-7 broad jump, a 4.78 20-yard shuttle and a 7.75 three-cone drill.

Gradkowski also told Wilson that he "he tries to emulate" Packers center Jeff Saturday and wants to "wind up on a team with a veteran guy."

At best, Gradkowski is considered a late-round center prospect.

Fun Fact: I've subbed for Bruce Gradkowski's sister before in the school district where I live.

Wow, this guy is hard to find on anyone's draft board. Talk about teams really doing there homework. This may well be one of those guys that the Packers can afford to pick up in the 7th because of the extra compensatory picks.

Rounds 1-3 are for us fans. I'm pretty sure any tom, dick, and harry off the street can half-ass their way through the early rounds.

Rounds 4-UFA is where NFL scouting depts/GMs earn their paychecks. I have a feeling we have no idea how much research they do year 'round.
