Packers Sign OL Rishaw Johnson to Practice Squad

The Green Bay Packers signed offensive lineman Rishaw Johnson to the practice squad on Wednesday, shortly before the team's first practice of the week.

Johnson takes the spot formerly held by tight end Justin Perillo, who was promoted to the 53-man roster prior to Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

A second-year player out of Ole Miss, Johnson checks in at 6-4, 315 lbs. and is listed as guard by the Packers.

Johnson originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2012 with the Seattle Seahawks and spent time on their active roster, even though he never played in a regular-season game.

After being released by the Seahawks, Johnson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, playing in three games and starting one.

Johnson was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August and was on their active roster for three games but again, didn't receive any playing time.

Following his released by the Buccaneers, Johnson also spent time on the practice squad of the Dallas Cowboys this season. He will wear No. 74 with the Packers.
