Packers Sign Crosby To Four Year Deal
The team's all-time scoring leader will be staying put.
By PackerAaron
Congratulations to Mason Crosby ( @crosbykicks2 ) agreeing to a 4 year contract with the @packers

No word yet on contract numbers, though I'm sure they'll be floating around soon enough.
UPDATE: Demovsky has the numbers.
Crosby's deal is worth $16.1 million, with a $5 million signing bonus.
Looks like Mason Crosby ($4.025M) is 3rd-highest paid kicker based on APY behind Tucker (tagged at $4.572M) and Gostkowski ($4,186M).

makes sense. Not too worried about any of the other free agents. If any of them come back, fine. If not, fine

I think we were all expecting this...Cosby was at the top of my list of keepers. Guion already resigned...now I'd like to see Starks, Neal, and Heyward.

Well deserved. His leg may be the difference between a ring and nothing someday.

3rd highest seems a little pricey to me, but whatever. You never appreciate a good kicker until you don't have one. One less thing to worry about.

He's probably not among the top 3 kickers in the league and hence not worth the 3rd highest salary. Yet one never knows with cold weather kickers, and if he'd have left and the team had a bad kicker, then it could be disastrous. So overall I think a good deal for both sides.
Now move on to signing other FAs.

This is good news. Crosby is the only must sign in our entire FA group. Thanks, Since '61

No hometown discount. No thanks for sticking by me when I had the yips for a year. Not a proven clutch kicker. Only $4.5 million to franchise tag the guy. AAV is $1 million per year too high. Guarantee is too high - $5 million just in signing bonus? I did view Crosby as a must sign, but that doesn't extend to TT overpaying his guy.
Terrible deal.

When you compare him to Gostkowski of New England I have to agree with you. Looking at just the last 3 years Gostkowski has misssed a total of 8 kicks, Crosby has missed 14 and both have misssed 2 kicks in their playoff careers. It does seem like a lot of money for a guy that's missed 60 FG attempts since 2007. Maybe it's just that miss in 2012 against Indy and the miss against Chicago last year I'll never get out of my mind.

Crosby is a class act. Glad he is back. Now go get the MN gopher punter in the draft. Good outdoor punter

The top 2 Free Agents on the Packers this year both have been resigned before Free Agency started. Mike Daniels and Mason Crosby.
Have to appreciate that the Packers are able to lock up their top free agents each year and not have to lose them.

Crosby and Daniels were the only "must-sign" guys, the rest of the Packer FA's can sign low priced contracts or walk, IMO.
