Packers Sign Giordano

I have not problem with the Giordano signing. He plaed pretty decent for the Colts. He sounds like a decent player, definitely is a big hitter (ask Desmond Clark) and certainly is already better that Jarrett Bush. Aaron Rouse sucked, no doubt, but it's really odd they let him go.

But, think carefully. The only safeties ready to start next week are Martin and Bush. This is not good, not good at all.

Either way, good luck Matt, and welcome to the "Does Not Suck" list for at least a week.

I didn't like Rouse, and believe his play affected directly the run support last game, as well as the Bengals' play action passing game.
And I also like Giordano very much, from his time with the Colts. I think he's an upgrade over anything we have right now, and maybe would be over Smith, had he been kept.

But like you, I'm very afraid, because I doubt he'll be able to play Sunday...

Maybe they think Martin is ready. But that doesn't excludes the probability that Bush will play, and thus we will pay...

I would like to say Thompson has found a few gems in FA and Waivers.

Ryan Grant 2007
Ryan Pickett
Brandon Chillar
Charles Woodson

Ill give him a chance.

Which is why I said Ryan Grant 2007, and not 2008 or 2009. :P

And why did the packers drop Antoine Smith from the Steelers he looked pretty good in the preseason. Im starting to get tired of Thompson not trying to keep people who have been around the block and know how to win. Hopefully everything works out but Smith would have really helped at a time like this.

God Bless

Its a rumor, but I heard Smith didn't want to play Special Teams or Corner in sub packages.

Cutting Anthony Smith was a puzzling move alright, but I wouldn't necessarily say that he knew how to win. He got benched last year and the Steelers then went on to win the Super Bowl.

The Safety Positon, a chronology

Cut Smith keep Rouse
2 weeks later Cut Rouse and get Giordano
Bigby perpetually injured
Collins goes out for a series or two every game with bumps and bruises
Safety is one of the keys to the 34
Giorano has never played in a 34
GB could have Martin and Bush starting Sunday

Yeah, I think TT knows what he is doing. And don't get me strated on the O line mess.

He's a bald white guy, just like Mark Murphy. He's gotta be good! Here's a picture:

Oh, and I'm talking about the Mark Murphy who played safety for the Packers from 1980-1991, not the Mark Murphy who played for the Redskins and is now CEO of the Packers. I can't show you his picture here because this site won't allow more than one link in a post for some reason. So I'll have to make another post.
