Niiiice. Camp should be amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if MM or Rodgers says this group is the best he's had since being here.

I don't pay much attention to contracts, so I'd like to know if all drafted rookies' contracts are set at 4-years? I know the 1st rounders get 4-years + a team option.

Yes, 4 years. First rounders have the 5th year option written in largely though the CBA. There are a few issues, one of which is offsets in case a rookie is later cut. First round contracts are mostly guaranteed (Randall contact is 80% guaranteed, 2nd Rounder Rollins get 33%, 3rd rounder Montgomery gets 20%, and 6th rounder Backman gets 4% guaranteed.

BTW, we have not had to deal with this, but high first round contracts are 100% guaranteed. Example: Leonard Williams, 6th pick in 2015: all $18M is 100% guaranteed. Going into his 4th year, he still has a $6M dead money cap hit. Missing on 1st rounders, especially a high pick, has significant cap ramifications.

As a reference to another article here, taking Jack would have risked a 1st round pick, and cap space, roughly what Randall got: $6.5M guaranteed, with dead money hits of $5M after season 1, $3.1M after year 2, and $1M after his 3rd season.

Significant cap ramifications, yes.

But now that there is salary limiting based on slotting, at least there isn't the runaway pricetags and hold outs that the league used to see with first rounder contracts.

Much better place today than, say, ten years ago.

Great news. Dont have to worry about him being a possible PS casualty. Just might make starting 53.

I keep reading little tidbits on Davis the latest Bucky Brooks calling him the best "Sleeper Pick" in the Draft for the NFC North.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000660072/article/nfc-north-draft-g...

Don't care much for Brooks opinion most time but considering this is one of several people on the Davis Bandwagon, the kid just might be the next great 5th rounder by TT following Hyde and Lindsey, and Hundley last year.

I wish Davis well. But he was stupid to sign a 4 year deal. He'll be lucky to make the roster. Learn, execute, make money!

Why is he stupid to sign this deal? It's a standard deal and he has little-to-no negotiating power.
