Packers Sign 5 Tryout Players, Release Campbell

The Packers signed five tryout players Monday, and also released tackle Chris Campbell.

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson announced Monday the signing of five players and the release of former practice squad tackle Chris Campbell.

Each of the following five players were present at the Packers' rookie orientation camp over the weekend:

WR Jarrett Boykin (Virginia Tech, 6-2, 218 lbs.)

VT's all-time leader in receptions (184) and receiving yards (2,884). Caught a school record 61 passes his senior season.

G Grant Cook (Arkansas, 6-4, 318)

Started 13 games at guard his senior season at Arkansas. 20-game career starter in college.

CB Otis Merrill (Illinois State, 5-11, 188)

Transferred to Illinois State after one year at Wisconsin. Started 15 games over three seasons at Illinois State.

T Shea Allard (Delaware, 6-5, 305)

33-game starter at tackle for the Blue Hens. Two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection.

WR Curenksi Gilleylen (Nebraska, 5-11, 213)  

Caught 17 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore at Nebraska. Made just two starts.
