Packers Select Titus Young In #MockThree Second Round

With the 64th overall selection in the Twitter mock draft, the Packers selected the wide receiver and return specialist from Boise State.

The Green Bay Packers have selected Boise State wide receiver Titus Young in the second round of the #MockThree draft on Twitter.

Young was a no-brainer for us, and was the my highest-rated available player. I think he was by far the most talented player available, at least in terms of athletic ability.

He's been receiving favorable comparisons to Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson for months, and his value is only increased because of his ability to return kicks.

On the downside, Young was suspended on two separate occasions in college. I was there at the NFL Combine when Young was asked about the suspensions and refused to talk about them, which didn't reflect well upon him.

Because of his troubles, I had him ranked behind other wide receivers in this year's draft class such as Kentucky's Randall Cobb and Maryland's Torrey Smith. When both of them came off the board six and seven picks before the Packers drafted, I was upset.

I was actually in talks to trade up and grab one of them, although we couldn't come to an agreement.

Regardless, I was happy Young fell down to the 64th overall pick in the draft. I've seen him ranked by various draft experts anywhere from the late first round to the third round, so take that for what you will.

Other players considered were North Carolina wide receiver Greg Little, Nevada outside linebacker Dontay Moch, Georgia offensive lineman Clint Boling and Troy wide receiver Jerrell Jernigan.

To track the rest of mock draft, just make sure to follow along with the hashtags #MockThree on Twitter.

This would be a great pick IMO. He's got good hands, obvious speed and he's polished. I was a little skeptical when Florio said numerous NFL scouts listed him as a late third rounder at best. Nothing against Florio, I just think that's a smoke screen.

Everything against Florio, and that is definitely a smoke screen.

Solid pick. I wouldn't select Moch in there, but the rest would be great picks IMHO. Little has even more character concerns, Boling is one of the best rated guards, but is a project, not an impact player, and Jernigan is more of a slot receiver, so I believe Young is the pick with more upside.

BC .... You should have offered more to trade up ...... Young is a poor man's DeJean Jackson without the speed ..... 5'11" & 174 pounds who gets man-handled at the LOS by physical corners .... Has trouble out-leaping defenders for the ball .... An ineffective blocker downfield ..... Only returned 11 punts in 4 years at Boise State .... Considered egotistical & one who resists coaching ....

2nd round ?? .... No way ..... 4th ?? .... Maybe.

Saw Young at the Senior Bowl - looked very coachable. As the week progressed you could watch him take what the coaches told him and implement it immediately on the next play.

Could be a good fit.

FWIW, I'd like Vincent Brown for the Packers in the third or so if Young wasn't there.

Also - Baldwin and Hankerson before Torrey Smith? Interesting.

No disrespect intended but I'm an old coot so take this FWIW...I *love* Jon Baldwin (some would say it's a man crush)...you cannot coach somebody into becoming 6'4/5"...just can't... IMNSHO, I think Baldwin has a chip on is shoulder instead of a "diva-type" attitude. BLUF: to each his own WRT to WRs & the rest of the positions...I'm hoping for OL within the top 2 picks and WR or DB with the other choice.
