They're bringing Don Morton back to coach the veer!

Not leaving anything to chance, the Packers have drafted three, count them, three, running backs.

Looking for one quality, stand-out backup.
Obviously not overly impressed with Don Jackson, and I'd say his days in GB are numbered.

Chances that one of these three make the team next year? 25%.

If you're referring to the 3 running backs...
Chances you're wrong? 100%

JA, Any thoughts on the reasons behind three RBs being drafted? BPA? Luxury of having enough picks to have choices? Special Teams help? Some combination thereof?

Obviously have little faith in Christine Michael.

When he was in GB, it was easy to see why Michael has 4 stints with 3 teams in 2015. And why Seattle again let him go in 2016. If using 3 picks on day 3 is what gets him off the final 53, it's worth it.

I think two of the three make the team and the last ends up on the PS.

I think you are correct. Ty being a swing guy makes it easier to carry an extra RB, depending on what happens with Michael.

I would not be surprised to see all 3 make it. Montgomery and Ripkowski are the only legit NFL backs on the roster. One started 2016 as a WR and the other is a FB.

i like Jones. good speed and can catch passes as a slot receiver.....ala Cobb. i can see him as a keeper.

How many RBs do we keep on the 53? That's a better question to be answered. I don't have any "good" feelings about C Michael or D Jackson... Michael has some trouble sticking around teams and it may be the inability to grasp assignments in a pro offense; Jackson is a basic slug! Keep Ty and Rip and all the newbies or what? How many needed to get through the season? I like the draft on paper... it just pisses me off that we needed to draft CBs 1&2 now when we did the same 2 years ago!!! Whether CB a or S this year, still top 2 picks as DBs... can you say incompetence???

it'll play out in camp. i would guess that 3 rb + Rip with one to the PS.

Maybe it says we don't have any true RBs... Ty is still an experiment in my eyes!

Those are crazy numbers in the weight room. I wonder why he is rated so low? But sounds like a good project if he is more than just a really strong guy.

COMMENTARY:
"Supposedly can bench 425 lbs and squat 550. Initial impressions is he seems like a more physical Dujuan Harris type."
He will be handy to have on the Tundra in Dec. or goal line stands. Besides, McCarthy could move Ty back to wide receiver and cut Michael.

Maybe they intend to use the clock as a form of defense. Running the ball and gaining first down can sure eat up the clock and help you keep a lead too.

Finally something on this guy thanks! All three guys drafted are way different and lots of comments on Williams the highest pick and that would be great if he was as good as Starks. But with Montgomery don't we all ask who's going to be that back that gets you that 3rd and one with Lacy gone? How about this dude at 230lbs and really strong not shifty just hits the hole hard and always makes the pile fall forward...sounds like a winner to me!
