SCOUTING REPORT - The Draft Network
CAREER NOTES:
32 games, 3,061 yards, 26 TDs, 5.0 avg, 95.7 ypg, long of 68 yds
FIT WITH THE PACKERS:
I think Nichols is an exemplary 3rd Down back and/or change of pace back in this system. In a year where we could see Aaron Jones or A.J. Dillon gone in 2024 he could be a rising star on the back end of the roster. If he's good in pass pro, he's got starting-caliber RB potential.
COMMENTARY:
I think we all knew that Matt LaFleur wanted another back to add to the stable in his offense. I like the competition Lew will bring to the RB room.

I actually like the Lee Nichols pick. A straight ahead power runner with a great 2022 who dropped off due to injury issues and a bad OL. last year. He knows how to get yards after contact: 1,776 yards after contact in his career, which is more than half of his total rushing yards during his time at CMU. Solid in pass pro. Tough, straight ahead, between the tackles, runner who knows how to use lead blockers. He’s not overly fast, but he has good short area quickness and he runs very hard.

Lew is 5'10" and 220 lbs running a 4.61, while AJ Dillon is 6'0", 247 lbs with 4.53-second speed. Wonder if we just drafted Dillons eventual replacement? Patrick Taylor Jr. 6-3, 223lb runs a 4.64.

This kid just might be a great find in the 7th round. He has good power and a low center of gravity. I like how he runs through people. He could be a solid change of pace #3 RB for the Packers in 2023. Thanks, Since '61

A guy that can ride up under your pads and take you for a ride.

95 yards per game and 5 yards per run averages = VALUE! I'll watch his highlights

He's a good RB, an under the radar guy. Always watch the MAC games during the week. He's a between the tackles runner.

I wonder why the pick of Nichols as opposed to Kenny McIntosh. McIntosh has played in big games with a quality Georgia team around him. We'll see.

Really think Lee is going to be best of the 7th rounders. Others. Meh.
Oh, and another visit.

Anthony Johnson was in my mock. He may surprise people.

I am surprised he dropped that far. Good pick up. Some growing into the role still to do, as a recent convert to safety, but he has the tools.
