It only took until the fifth round, but the Packers finally selected a true outside linebacker prospect with Missouri's Jacquies Smith in the internet mock draft #MockFour.
Smith has a long way to go in terms of his technique and bulking up to defend the run. He's more of a pass rush specialist, but that's exactly what the Packers could use from that position.
Very appealing to Green Bay in terms of being "Packer people," Smith was a team captain and graduated from school in only three and half years.
Smith was a contributor at Missouri during his true freshman season and only saw his playing time and production increase every year. He didn't put up huge sack numbers but over his career he racked up 159 tackles, 26 for a loss, 13 sacks and eight forced fumbles.
With a little coaching up from outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene, Smith would become a more well-rounded player and has the capability of becoming a starter in the NFL.
