Packers Running Back DuJuan Harris Has Cyst Removed
Following up a photo and cryptic message posted on social media, the Packers running back has undergone a procedure to remove a cyst.
The Green Bay Packers found and removed a cyst on the right lung of running back DuJuan Harris, according to a league source. He will need a couple weeks to recover.
This follows up a cryptic message and photo Harris posted on his Instagram social media account, which shows a bandage below his right pectoral muscle and exclaiming "Thank God for team physicals!!!"
Harris had not previously taken part in any practice open to the public this offseason.
The second-year running back elaborated on his Twitter account after our original posting:
EVERYTHING IS FINE, dr.s found a fist sized cyst on my lung next to my heart. Shows the importance of getting routine check-ups, GET YOURS!

UPDATE: While declining to discuss specifics of Harris' procedure, head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed during his Tuesday press conference that Harris would miss the rest of the team's offseason program.
McCarthy also said he expect Harris to be ready for training camp, which begins on July 26.

Packers strength and conditioning staff strikes again. This never would have happened if he were on the 49ers.
June 05, 2013 at 03:23 pm
Exactly...the 49ers are savvy enough to know that extra 1.2 lbs = stardom.

A proper stretching regimen could have prevented this... Such a shame.
June 05, 2013 at 03:35 pm
ha.
I read somewhere the cyst was the result of the feet-first fumble recovery drill...when will McCarthy ever learn?

I see what you did there, almost had me. Good one.
June 05, 2013 at 10:38 pm
Nah, I think its from running behind a horrible offensive line...

Christ! That's a big muthafuggin cyst, yo!

In all seriousness, though. I'm glad his injury was finally revealed and that it was nothing serious.
June 05, 2013 at 04:02 pm
agreed. hope this doesn't effect his pad level.
June 05, 2013 at 10:41 pm
I completely agree. I don't know if it would be considered 'not serious' but in a football sense, yeah, nothing serious.
Glad he is doing well and looking forward to seeing him when the Pads come on.

Does this make him undersized?
June 05, 2013 at 09:04 pm
49'er medical staff would have removed this cyst before it ever appeared. Obviously.
June 06, 2013 at 08:41 am
No, if he had been on the 49ers, they would have seen the cyst for what is really was...just an inflamed awesomeness gland.

Why can't Thompson find some players that can stay healthy?
June 06, 2013 at 02:24 am
Size of a fist..on a lung...next to his heart. ., I hate when that happens

This guy will never play a down of football for the Green Bay Packers again. 3-13
June 06, 2013 at 11:46 am
I'm glad it wasn't one from the tailbone. That picture I would not want to see. LOL
June 07, 2013 at 06:15 pm
Undersized, prone to injuries and not a 49'er. The guy is done.
