Packers Question of the day - Which Undrafted free Agent(s) are you Expecting to make the Roster?

A hoard of undrafted free agents are rounded up each year by Packers general manager Ted Thompson, and every so often, there's the lucky one or two who end up on the final roster.

We know the names of the undraftees who claimed occupancy on the 53-man roster in recent years. But who will be the chosen ones in 2016?

Names such as Geronimo Allison, Josh Hawkins, Makinton Dorleant, and Beniquez Brown are in contention. While the list goes on, the reality is that there is indeed a possibility that not a single undrafted player makes it through every roster cut until early September where the Packers finalize such proceedings.

Who are your undrafted players to watch, and why?

Mitchell Henry! Because Packers needs another very good TE!

Just because he made some people pay attention to him early on, I'll say Makinton Dorleant.

I'll take the receiver Allison. He is very big and very athletic and from all reports is having a great camp. He has big hands and a low wonderlic score--the prototypical Ted Thompson receiver. Given the uncertainty in health with Janis and Montgomery I think there is a good chance the Pack starts the season a little bit thin at wide out. The team usually keeps 7 WR but given the catastrophe of 2015 I would not rule out Teddy keeping 8 this year (7.5 if you consider Janis to mostly contribute on special teams).

The 8:
Jordy (if healthy)
Cobb
Davante
Davis
Janis
Montgomery (if healthy)
Abbrederis
Allison

This number reflects the expanded roster and includes practice squad guys. 53 man has carried 5 WR for 8 of the last 9 seasons.

Supposedly he had a workout yesterday, but he hasn't been signed. If they sign him, it casts a shadow on Jared Cook and his return from injury.

Apparently Cook, Barrington, and Montgomery are all off the PUP and participating to some extent in practice. It's not September, yet, but I think your roll had KY Jelly in it.

Yup, so did 28 other teams. GM'S tend to shy away from players who fall off Balcony's and weed was found in their rooms. RED FLAG!!!!

Hawkins & Allison but they really like the other two. But those two are showing nothing in camp.

I'm thinking the team keeps seven receivers given last years woeful showing and the extra wideout assures competition throughout the season. I also think Allison makes the team and Janis get cut loose because he still can't run routes consistently. His ST skills will be missed but if he still can't be dependable on routes after two years, it's time to cut and replace with someone who can contribute and improve.

No it's not an insult. Give Janis 9 years. I'll take Janis over Bush any day. Bush should have been cut his first year,2nd year,3rd year 4th year,5th year. But his teammates loved him.

I'm going with K. Brice. & Allison. I have a question for all the Wrs. If Montgomery makes it back. Wasn't he better than Drop Vante? By dropping Adams, they save 1,000,000 against the cap. Is Janis not the more clutch, and complete player than Adams? A better bargain. He may be stupid on the routes, but comes through if the ball is not a hard one to the head. I see no difference in Adams routes, than Janis screwing up. Abbey may have the best timing. But can he stay on the field? I prefer Nelson,Cobb, Monty, Janis,Davis, and Abbey. Keep 6. I'd keep 4 TEs. Being Winslow is entering the mix.

THe Winslow love is unwarranted. He's been out of football for 2 seasons for a reason, not to mention he's a loose cannon. I'd be super surprised if Tinkering Ted even calls him back. I think Alison Makes the squad. Davis return skills and speed to be a good gunner makes Janis expendable especially since Alison and Davis can already catch and run better routes that the great white dope from the sounds of the reports. Enjoy the hype for another few weeks cause JJ is getting squeezed out by more polished WRs that played in the Pac 12 and Big Ten respectively in Abby, Alison, Davis.

I'm going to wait until we have 2 preseason games first. I tried answering but I ended up deleting 2 different answers, lol.

Who I'm interested in seeing/reading more about is Pikula. His film is intriguing, but the production just wasn't there. I liked Gerronimo's film after checking him out once he signed with us, but it's hard to imagine him beating out any of our current WRs. Bad timing. Now, if he had came around during the Jarrett Boykin time......

Pikula was cut on an injury settlement...I think it was yesterday.

"...and if he had come around during the Jarrett Boykin time."

Then the Packers would have had two Jarrett Boykins.

Cow a broken clock is right twice a day. The only roll you are on is an endless list of wrong predictions culminating in your worst ever, for which you promised never to return to this site.

If Jared Cook plays a down this year will you promise again to leave and this time keep your promise?

It was a promise. A wise informed and value driven person such as yourself must know words mean something and so does keeping your word.

Please accept this offer???

Because you promised you would.

Due to your failure to keep a promise you have no credibility.

You contribute nothing to the discussions here that has any merit.

I like coming to this site to learn and get honest opinions from other fans.

You have a single intent here and I have respectfully asked many times to "be the change" in the world and hang up your "trolling cleats".

I'll give you this man....there is definitely a bust for you as a first ballot Hall of Fame of Trolls.

Congrats.

Gotta love a total longshot: Harvey Binford. He ran a 4.22 forty yard dash and was a DANCE MAJOR in college. I love to root for these kind of guys! Anybody who puts in the kind of effort to be a professional dancer (Binford was the "nutcracker" in a ballet company) has to put in LOTS of grueling time just to be considered, so he has the work ethic. See this link: http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2016/08/03/harvey-bi... Unlikely, but would be a great story!

I am NOT on the "Janis makes this team on special teams" bandwagon. No no. There are a lot of hungry youths ready to run through brick walls to make this team.
Here's hoping "Geronimo!!!" can show on special teams as he has shown more receiver polish already than Jeff "I've made a few miracle catches" Janis. If not Geronimo, some other guy will be able to replace Janis on special teams.

Kentrell Brice has intrigued me since being signed, and it wouldn't surprise me if he makes the roster. Also, not sure if he'll make the 53, but the newly signed Derrick Mathews could have a shot with ILB seemingly wide open at the 3 or 4 spot. He has the build to play the hybrid safety/linebacker role that's becoming increasingly used, and he certainly had the production in college to warrant attention. Other than those two, maybe Reggie Gilbert (though with our OLB depth he's pretty much got no shot right now), or another D-lineman.

UDF players need to make a statement in pre-season
games and practice. Lets see some live game action before we make a call on UDF's.
