Packers Question of the day - Which Rookie are you most Excited to see make his Debut?

This Friday night not only marks the preseason opener that should've been last weekend, but it also means the debut of the 2016 Draft class. Kenny Clark, Jason Spriggs, Blake Martinez and the four other draftees will finally see the field and put their development into motion in front of the Lambeau Faithful.

Among the group, which rookie are you the most excited to see suit up in the preseason home-opener?

On a more serious note...I'd like to see what Spriggs brings to the table.

Definitely looking forward to seeing how Lowry does. If we can find another stud DE opposite Daniels, watch out.

I'm not sure we will see the game in Dallas unless there's some type of fluke, but want to see how the OL holds up for the QB, the OLB puts pressure on their QB, and how the ILB cover against the Brown's RBs and TEs.

1. Clark - his rookie role of being part of the regular rotation on the D-line is going to be vital to the Packers' season, so that plus the fact that he's our 1st round pick makes him probably the most exciting to watch during pre-season.

2. Martinez - I think he could be a very good rookie ILB for us; someone who the team may find difficult in taking off the field. He may not start the season with a huge role, but he might very well finish the season with one. his pre-season performances could tell us just how soon we might expect him to start earning real 3-down playing time.

3. Spriggs - got to know if he could potentially replace David Bakhtiari in case of injury *knocks on wood* or free agency (next season). since he'll likely only be a back-up this year his pre-season performance could be the only time we fans really get to see a reflection of the Packers options for next season.

4. Fackrell - can he have a Clay Matthews type of impact his rookie season? doubtful, but I'll be keeping an eye on him and his progress during the pre-season to get a better gauge of what we might expect from him when given potential opportunities this year; plus, it'll be interesting to see what kind of guy the Packers may have on their hands for next season when Peppers, Jones, and Perry become Free Agents.

5. Hawkins - what UDFA cornerback will make the 53-man roster? I'm predicting one will make it and Hawkins and Dorleant are the two main rookie UDFA's I'm guessing will be competing for that spot; though, Robertson Daniel (second year UDFA) might be the favorite guy to win the spot.

6. Dorleant - will he be the UDFA cornerback to make the 53-man roster? pre-season performances will be vital in finding out.

7. Lowry - what can he offer as a rookie? he's not expected to play a vital role like Clark, but with Pennel missing the first 4 games due to suspension perhaps Lowry will be given more opportunity than what I initially expected the Packers to afford him. his pre-season performances will probably also signify what the Packers might decide to do with Ringo too.

8. Callahan - who will be the 3rd QB (likely sitting on the Practice Squad)? and can either of the potential 3rd QBs give the receivers a fair shake at showing their skills and development to the coaching staff during pre-season?

9. Williams - who will it be? I'm doubting they keep both on the practice squad.

10. Murphy - can he be a quality back-up option at both Tackle positions and what about Guard? also going to be important in determining the Packers comfort level in perhaps letting Bakhtiari and/or the veteran Guards walk away in Free Agency next year.

11. Davis - what can he provide as a return man this year? his special teams capability will likely be his only method for making the 53-man roster this season; otherwise, I expect he'll be looking at a practice squad spot and to begin working on adding muscle for his opportunity to make the 53-man roster next season.

12. Allison - how well does he stand out during pre-season as an "X" receiver? I don't anticipate him unseating any of the WRs in front of him, but perhaps I'm wrong. If anything a solid performance should ensure he's added to the Packers practice squad or another team is willing to make a trade for him or a team simply snags him when the Packers try getting him onto their practice squad.

13. Mortell - can he unseat Tim Masthay as the Packers Punter? probably a really big long-shot, but still interesting.

14. Binford - similar situation to Allison, but more of a speedster guy. I anticipate him and Allison battling for a practice squad position with Allison as the clear favorite, but if Allison isn't able to make it onto the practice squad then I think Binford is a shoe-in.

15. Gilbert - can he flash enough pass-rush ability to indicate he's worth developing on the practice squad? I'm thinking he might be able to.

16. Brice - probably battling Evans for a practice squad opportunity.

17. Evans - probably battling Brice for a practice squad opportunity.

18. Price - does he show enough natural ability to indicate he's worth keeping on the practice squad where he can build his strength over the next year?

19. Anderson - don't know much about him except he's supposedly got NT ability and that may be something the Packers want to develop, so perhaps he'll be battling Price for a potential practice squad opportunity.

20. Ross - can he demonstrate enough skills to warrant a spot on the practice squad?

21. Burks - likely battling Ross for a possible practice squad opportunity, but that might still be a long-shot as the Packers might look outside their 90 man roster for a practice squad RB.

22. Jette - I'm guessing he's a long shot for even a practice squad opportunity, but maybe I'm wrong and he's right in the thick of it with Hawkins and Dorleant.

23. Gatewood - same as Jette.

24. James - everyone from here on below I'm guessing is a super long-shot for even a practice squad opportunity.

25. Patrick - ditto

26. Squirewell - ditto

27. Kuder - ditto

28. Brown - ditto

29. Waters - ditto

30. Flores - ditto

31. Schmitt - would have been much higher on this list, but his broken hand will make it pretty much impossible for him to unseat Rick Lovato as the Packers Long Snapper this season; nevertheless, maybe he'll get added to the practice squad after an IR stint allows him to heal.

Excellent summary, L. Clark has to play day 1, so he is my #1. Martinez next - he has the chance to make the biggest impact, but there are other options. Many others are important and mentioned by others: I am more interested in Lowry after Clark and Martinez.

I get people putting Lowry up towards the top as I debated between Spriggs and Lowry at #3 for a while, but then rationalized that he's already pretty much a lock for the 53-man roster which makes him less interesting on the battle-for-a-53-man-spot front and I don't think he'll get any kind of regular rotation minutes this year as long as player health doesn't factor in forcing him to contribute (fingers crossed) so that also lessens my interest some on that front -- but maybe I'm wrong about the role he's expected to play -- plus, the Packers aren't facing any really tough decisions with several of their key defensive linemen next season so his pre-season performance isn't as interesting regarding the teams future decision-makings and options. This is why I bumped him down a bit.

Fackrell and Martinez as these two will have an impact to what and where Matthews plays. The reason I liked Fackrell for the Packers at outside linebacker and if Martinez can secure the inside linebacker, Matthews can become a more dangerous player.

I hope this is the last pre-season game Allison plays. I want him to prove he can play and then only be on the field minimally so other teams don't see what we have...stash him on the practice squad.

I don't think tricks like that are the Packers way. That's why they get good UDFA's because the Packers provide them opportunities...and, unfortunately, sometimes not just in Green Bay.

Geronimo, because I love UDFA "diamond in the roughs."
Lowry, because if he can be competitive, the defense is much more solid.
Clark/Martinez/Spriggs, because they need to look like they weren't total busts as high picks.
Fackrell. I love his potential; watching his college highlights, he reminds me of Ted "The Mad Stork" Hendricks from the 70's, but I expect he'll need a year to get stronger.
