Packers Question of the day - Match-ups for GBvsPHI?
The Packers gear up for their third meeting with the Eagles in the last four seasons, and it'll be just the second time Aaron Rodgers has faced them in that span.
The defense will be up against a rookie quarterback in Carson Wentz, who has been making headlines across the league in 2016. The rookie sensation is aided by a 14th-ranked offense in terms of points per game, four spots behind Green Bay's 10th-ranked unit. How will the Packers' putrid secondary match-up against their opposition tonight?
The Eagles' defense, meanwhile, currently ranks fourth-best in the league, also in terms of points given up per game. They'll be up against Rodgers and co., who have had no problem getting going during games, as long as you're not expecting much production from them in the first quarter. Philadelphia's defense has allowed 9.5 points per game when playing at home this season.

Hope for turnovers from Wentz and that Rodgers plays out of his mind. If either neglects to happen, GB is done.

This game pretty much means everything for Green Bay. They lose and the seasons is virtually over. They win, same thing next week.
In this game to me the key matchups is the Packers secondary vs the Eagles WR's. The Packers CB's have been beat badly lately. The Packers CB's could actually win this battle though.
First off there is a good chance that Randall is about to return. Second, they are a better matchup vs the Eagles WR's. Eagles don't have the small explosive type that has has given this group the most problems. Gunter specifically matches up better against bigger WR's and could be a good person to put on Green-Beckham.
If the CB's hold up, it may allow the pass rush to get home. Mathews being a week healthier could make more of an impact.
Also Mathews moving to ILB is a possibility at least part time. IF he does and is there to rush the QB it will put the best pass rushers on the field.

Packers offense best matchup is to use Montgomery as the RB with Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Cook.
This formation provides the most flexibility and the most explosiveness.
Cook another week working in the offense could be a huge target which could open up the offense for the other WR's.

Correct. They are going to have to go 5-1 the rest of the season. So if they lose tonight, that is the 1 loss. But they'd have to go 5-0 the rest of the season.

Michael takes off on the first to 6 straight 100 yard regular season games. Seattle fires Schneider for letting him go and he returns to GB. On 12/11/16, Michael breaks off a 200 yard rushing game. Hey, a guy can dream right?

Incredibly in 2014 the Chiefs went the entire season without a TD pass to a WR (the streak ended at 21). I would be interested to know if a NFL team ever went a full season without a RB getting a rushing TD as the Packers seem to be striving towards.
Maybe this Michael dude can break on through and make this a moot point. Just by chance you'd think an RB would stumble across the goal-line with football in tow.

If the Pack can dominate both lines of scrimmage I think they might have a chance. In regards to Matthews, my opinion has been that he should never have been moved back to the outside, it doesn't take a genius to see that he can't hold up playing OLB.

I think you hit the nail on the head: this is the key. Philly has played better of late when they run the ball. If the Packers can run the ball and Philly can't, it will go a long way toward breaking the streak...

If the Pack can dominate both lines of scrimmage and that doesn't all but guarantee a victory -- then I don't know what else they could do to fix this season. We went from, "as long as we have Aaron Rodgers we have a chance" to "if the Pack can dominate both lines of scrimmage...they might have a chance".

Very interesting to see how many snaps Michael gets. Hard to predict. Likely depends on how well he has picked up GBs pass pro scheme.
