Packers Question of the Day: Least Liked NFC North Foe

With the first of two meetings with the Minnesota Vikings this season fastly approaching, there seems to be no better time for a division-oriented question of the day.

Of the Bears, Lions and Vikings, who are - in your eyes - the least-liked divisional opponent?

I think this depends where you live. I grew up close to the WI/IL border, so for me it's the Bears.

I dislike all of them for different reasons.

The ly-ings have always been a cheap shot bunch of jerks, from th beginnings of their cheap secondary using the helmet as a weapon to suh to that azzwipe head coach they had, there is a lot to dislike about detroit.

The bares are the bares. they are our big city, look down their noses at the hicks from GB rivals. Longest series, lots and lots of bad blood. But... I can respect the bares, just dont like them.

I really hate the stinking viqueens. Really hate them. from their horrible purple color to the individuals on the team from tarkenton to chris carter to randy moss to john randle, the list goes on and on of people I really dislike personally. Then there is that piece of crap stadium they played in. the piped in noise, that obnoxious horn, that fat pig with bad hair on the motorcycle... there is just so much to dislike, there really is no end. But, unlike duh bares, therte is not even a shred of respect for those purple trailer dwelling losers from minnietown.

Hovan is irrelevant.

I hated that smug RB from THE Ohio State, robert whats his name too.

The only one I cant work up a good hate for is Culpepper just because Im a UCF alum too.

Grew up on the north shore of Lake Superior. We would either get Viking games or Packer broadcasts. I was smart enough as a youngster to make good decisions. For my money the Vikings have been the rivalry. Going back, they were two small market teams fighting for respect. If they had a QB they would be right there.

Vikings. Unlike the Lions, they don't know humility. And unlike the Bears, they have nothing in their history to brag about, yet they refuse to acknowledge their place in the pecking order. The fans are obnoxious. Their history of player behavior is pathetic. And yet, they talk. All. The. Time.

You want to brag? Win something of consequence first.

In my younger days, I liked the Vikings defense with Page, Eller, etc. I was still a Packer fan but come on...a name like the Purple People Eaters is hard to hate. I never had any fond memories of the Bears so are the most hated team.

Hands down the Vikings for me. I've lived in western WI for 18 years through college and now raising a family. The fans are insufferable!

As well, under the old "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" mantra, I'll listen to Paul Allen's show whenever I can and he is insufferable as well. If you want to brighten your day, YouTube the call of the 2003 three Vikings/Cardinals game final play where the Cards win got GB in the playoffs. "Noooooooo"........

Vikings. Used to be the Bears, but they just aren't relevant lately (always hated when they piled on that 72 point offensive game, classless). But now, the Vikings stupid horn, ugly stadium and (in my view cheating) piping in excess noise make them my most hated rival in the NFC.

I have a respectful disdain for the Bears. George Halas assisted in keeping the Packers in Green Bay and the Packers organization helped keep the Bears stable during the infancy of professional football. Same with the Lions organization.
The Vikings and their fans have no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

For me it's always been the Vikings. Probably because they dominated the old NFC Central right after the Lombardi era. It seemed like they won the division every season during the '70s except for 1972 when the Packers made their lone '70s appearance in the playoffs.

The Viqueens were one of the bandwagons that some fans here in the Northeast jumped on during the '70s along with the Cowgirls and the Steelers. The Viqueens bandwagon was the smallest compared with either of the Dallas or Pitt bandwagons. Yet their fans were the most obnoxious with nothing to show for it.

To me the Queens were the Packers nemesis from 1968 until 1992 when the Packers finally became to good enough to beat them consistently once again.

I don't like the Lions but I feel much stronger about the Vikings. As for the Bears, I'm not crazy about them either but I've watched 3 of the greatest players in NFL history play for them; Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers and Walter Peyton and when they weren't playing the Packers I could watch (especially Sayers) them play all day. They were just great football players.

Go Pack Go! Beat the Vikings! Thanks, Since '61

In any case they

It used to be the Bears hands down; Ditka, Doug Atkins, Joe Fortunato up to McMahon, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Wilbert Montgomery...what a bunch of total a-holes. Plus, I lived in SE WI and had to deal with the FIBs and FISHTABs every day...how could I help not hating them.

Then I moved to Western WI and had to live among Vikings fans...wow....what a group of delusional individuals. To hear them talk you'd think they'd won 15 or 20 NFL championships talk instead of .....How many is it? Oh yeah, 0!

Minnesota easily,. Hate and not a shred of respect for them. Their fans act as if they are the kings of the division yet have no pedigree or (cough, cough) real titles, which at least the Bears do. Lions next because of that loss in the 60s that was the only blemish on a perfect season.

Last game I went to at Lambeau was MINN, when they still had Cullpepper & Moss. I sat in a Private box that had both Minn & GB fans in it. It was a Milw Game, so there were a lot of Minn fans there. Lookng out at the stadium, it was a sea of Purple. I expected fights to break out, both in the box, & out in the stadium. Those people came in loud & like they owned the place. Unbelievably Rude & Obnoxious. We were 4 pt favorites & won by 3.

Out here I've talked to a number of Chicago Fans. We all agree that we don't like one another. I always tell them that we don't like Chicago, but we Hate Minnesota, & if we can't make it, I hope they do. They tell me the same thing. You don't get that from Minnesota Fans. Pittsburg fans act as though they own the NFL as well. They're actually worse than Minnesota. I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to feel sorry for Detroit. If by chance we don't make it this year, I hope Detroit does. They are way over due.

I have been sickened for over 50 years by random losses to the Vikings. I find it humorous that they totally choked in every one of their Super Bowl appearances however they were a festering thorn in the side of our savior St. Vincent and have continued to be a total affront to the sanctity of the Green and Gold. The long and storied history with the Bears makes them a tolerable rival. Losses to the Lions are merely humiliating embarrassments equivalent to the unintentional passing of gas after the big T-giving meal.

I have been to Packers Bears at Lambeau and it was a fun time Packers won but Bears fans were gracious and the hotel was fans of both teams and everyone got along great , I dislike Viking fans who flood Packer sites and make the most ignorant comments ,even make fun of injured players , that right there tells you what Viking fans are made of . The Lions well they are just the Lions .

I grew up near La Crosse so there were many Viking fans among us. Never have and never will like the Vikes.

I'm a purist in that football is an outdoor sport. That knocks the Vikes down another rung on the ladder of respect. Ditto Detroit.

I've always appreciated the Bears as a franchise. Maybe it's easier to do when you've dominated them for two decades. But at least they play outside when it's cold. The way God intended...

As a tried and true Packer fan that lived in Minnesota for almost twenty years, I can emphatically say Viking fans are the most obnoxious. They despise the fact that we have won four super bowls vs their four losses. That gives their a severe inferiority complex and an unrealistic sense that each year some magic will occur and they will win the super bowl. When the packers beat them they finally have to swallow the reality that they just aren’t that good and they lash out at the packers and our incredible supportive fan base. Instead of supporting their team they get their jollies out of picking on packer fans and our team. This is perfectly illustrated on sports radio program in the twin cities led by a jerk named Dan Barraro (sp?). He spends hours lambasting our team and players. His favorite criticism was calling Farve “Vicodin” based on his unfortunate drug addiction. It was a curious case of hypocrisy when Farve joined the Queens and suddenly he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It’s just a typical example of the sore loser attitude that permeates the Queen fan base. So my vote for the most disgusting/worse team has to be the Queens. Fortunately when one of their fans starts giving me crap or spouting off how great their team is, I simply ask: “How many Super Bowls has your team won?” That usually shuts them up. It’s not said to be mean cause some of their fans are classy, but far more are just obnoxious and need to show a bit of respect for the greatest franchise and fan base in all of sports.

The Horn, the Metrodome, Dennis Green, nearly all, no ALL of their players since the Tarkenton Kapp days. Yuck. Says it all.
