Packers Question of the Day: Expectations for Sunday

The Packers will open up their 2017 regular season and road to Super Bowl 52 this Sunday at Lambeau Field. It'll be the fourth season in a row that they face the Seahawks in the regular season.

In six of their eight wins against Seattle since 2003, the Packers won by double digits, including their 42-20 romping in the 2008 playoffs.

What are your expectations for Sunday?

As always I expect a Packers victory. I have not settled on a scoring prediction yet but I'm expecting the Packers to look like and play like a much faster team than Seattle. We're playing at home, we have Aaron Rodgers, we have new looks on offense and defense plus we have more speed than recent seasons.
All that, plus solid execution of course, should result in a Packers victory.
Go Pack Go! Thanks, Since '61

I expect Perry to earn his paycheck... ( for once ) and honor the..." Thank God We Got Perry " bestowed by the many.
I expect Matthews to ' hammie it up ' one way or another.

19-16, Packers.

Both defensive front 7's control both O-Lines, with an underrated Daniels-Clark-Lowry group controlling Seattle's interior, and a good-but-not-great Packers O-Line struggling against a loaded Seattle front.

Special Teams and field position will be key. Green Bay is faster than in years past, and the punter has a little stronger leg.

Plenty of field goals, with the home team holding on in an ugly, mistake-ridden affair.

19-16, Packers.

I look for us to set the tone. I don't see us starting fast, but starting faster than the Seachickens. I think our defense is gonna kick total a$$. Monty breaks one. Martellus has 2 tds. We win a close one.

I expect this to be a tough game.

I think the Packers will win. But will be a tough game.

This game will be won in the trenches. Who wins at the LOS will win this game.

Hopefully we will have our first Victory Monday of the year to start next week off.

My expectations for Sunday are that Aaron keeps his focus on being "All In" and is in mid-season form after yet once again claiming to need absolutely no snaps in exhibition games. I expect that his timing with all receivers is unnaturally perfect and that his audible game overshadows Seattles defensive prowess and puts the Packer offense in continuous "win" play calls resulting in a 30+ point performance.

Additionally I expect that the "new" Packer defense will play with speed and power and that Dom has schemes set up to stymie Russell Wilson and the Seattle O-coordinators game plan against them.

I expect that the pass coverage will be much much tighter than last year and that youthful speed will allow better pursuit to the ball and lots of gang tackling.

I expect Mike McCarthy to coach like his job depends on it. I want to see the brake pedal removed from the Packer bus. I want to see absolutely NO LET UP until the Packers have at least a 30 point lead. I want to see an attacking defense with a "No Prisioner" attitude.

My expectations include a convincing win.

I expect to see mistakes from both teams, and the impact of those mistakes will determine the outcome.

I hope to see a more aggressive Packer's defense than we've seen in recent years, because those kind are more fun to watch, even if they do result in big gashes.

I hope to see a successful introduction to the "Monty and Marty Show."

The only expectation I have is to gauge if the defense is good enough to allow them a real shot at winning the superbowl this year.

Given the additions at TE, I have high expectations for the offense, but I think the seahag defense will challenge them. The only worry this year on offense is about OL depth.

So my plan is to watch the game, and let it set expectations for this year.

I expect Rodgers will concede half the field to Sherman again.....long day for the offense.

i look forward to a highly contested game on a beautiful late summer day. i can imagine a lot of chess games, particularly Rodgers attempting to find weakness in the Seattle secondary. look for Rodgers to target the Seahawks'' cb Jeremy Lane. as offensive lines struggle to contain good pass rushing from both defenses, both QBs will be depending on their mobility often. Capers will send blitzes, possibly relentlessly. i think we will see a rotation of corners in the Packer secondary and solid, if not spectacular play from the safeties. this is a game where the OLBs, Perry, Matthews and Brooks, can showcase their pass-rushing abilities. Dial may play some. Kevin King on the speedy Paul Richardson? so many interesting match-ups on both sides.

I expect the Packers offense to have too many weapons for Seattle to cover. Bennett and Kendricks, plus Nelson Adams and Cobb, are too much for the Seahawks. Packers 31-24.

I fear that early season defenses perform better than early season offenses giving an edge to Seattle. But I also believe that AR is focused on home field advantage and recognizes how important this one is. Hope he's in the zone.

Tough game to call , but 60-0 Pack rolls...

I expect Matthews to pull his 'hammy' and the Seattle defensive front will run poor Rodgers ragged. He will escape enough to help The Pack pull out the win with Rodgers heroics and Crosby's lat field goal. Again, the run game will be ignored after being stymied twice.

Packers in Green Bay you always expect a win.

What I want to see are the Packers being aggressive looking for mismatches. If the secondary is strong than create problems covering the tight ends or Montgomery out of the backfield. At times the Packers can be a bit too stubborn and try to do what they do well no matter what the defense does in response. I hope to see more responding to how the D lines up and finding where the good matchup lies. If AR is going to take the playclock to 1 second every play then let's hope he finds where he has the advantage and takes it.

I expect there to be good ball security, but some errant pad levels and I expect it to be clean up on Monday.

Actually, I expect Packers to win TO battle and win 27-16 and come out of Game free of any serious injury.

I think the Packers make a statement in this game and get off to a fast start , make them play catch up, and see the turnovers happen after we stop the run and have Wilson scrambling for his life. That's the game I'm hoping for. 31-13 would make a good statement.

Historic Game At Lambeau Sunday
In an effort to address the running back question, the Packers are going to unveil their RJF offense. A version of the Wildcat with Ricky Jean Francois at QB running the triple option with Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels in the backfield. RJF will be the 1st player in NFL history with 3 TFL and 3 offensive TDs in one game.

(This will cement both MM and TT for the Hall Of Fame. Thompson for strategic use of the Free Agent market and McCarthy for getting the most out of RJF's talent. )

I expect us to get more pressure with more speed on defense, and play aggressively, win or lose type of defensive game, involving safeties playing next to the LBs.

Offensively, I feel we will finally find out what the plan is for Ty. I think Ty will run the ball better than many expect, and force them to respect him as a RB in personnel groups, but for him to use his WR experience to split out and gain matchups if they play heavier in the box defensively because of potential run plays.

Expect big games for Ty/Bennett/Cobb vs the Seahawks in the middle of the field
