Packers Question of the Day: Expectations for Sunday?

Sure, we all want the season to just end itself now, but we're going to be missing watching the Packers play by late January.

It's the regular season finale this Sunday in Detroit, and for the second year in a row, the Packers will cap off their regular season against the Lions. Only this time, there's no playoff spot to contend for.

What're your expectations for Sunday?

I expect this game to be the guillotine for many, but as like the Players, Coaches and FO the last few seasons, the blade to be as inefficient and dull.

My expectations?

This is game 1 of a 5 game pre-season schedule for the 2018 Packers.

No expectations.

3rd and 4th stringers trying to show something.

Veterans trying to not get hurt.

Yawn...

Nothing to see here, move along...

I expect that the Packers will come out and shut out the Lions and play lights out on offense behind whichever QB lines up under center.

Because now that we're at the end and a 7-9 record nets a little bit stronger pick and we really need change on defense, it's just been THAT kind of season...

If I am reading the articles correctly, we could pick as high as 12th (I see 10th but I don't follow how that is possible) and as low as 19th. I am not into hoping we lose, but the difference btw 12th (or even 14th or 15th, also pretty likely) and 19th is really, really, shaking that conviction. At 12th, not only should we get a more talented player, one with fewer red flags and more ready to contribute year one, we probably can get those things in a player at several two or three different positions.

Bottom line is I hope Miami (Miami has a strong opponent W/L record and if we tie at 7-9 we get the better pick as to them), Arizona, Washington win. Since I am too lazy to check, also every 6 win team manages to win this week.

Detroit is famous for its end of season collapses. I expect our practice squad to wipe the turf with them. Pipkins and Gilbert with reach icon status and Hundley will look all pro with Janis, Clark, Davis and Allison. I expect him to throw for at least 350 yards, 125 for us, 225 for them.

In the end, we win going away, 9 to 7.

I expect Domfounded's Dynamic Defense to make Stafford (if he plays) look like Joe Montana and Marvin Jones and Golden Tate to look like Jerry Rice and Jerry Rice.... As usual.. Also, I expect Ebron to probably have the best day of his career. I expect Butt Chumley to go for 92 yards on 15 of 62 passing for an int and 1 garbage time TD. I expect Reggie Gilbert, Beigel, Brooks and Fackrell to play harder than the over paid long hair and the walking injury played all year. I expect Ha Ha to be a step late on every opportunity to make a play. I expect Jamal Williams to run well. I expect terrible attempts at catch-able balls by the back up WRs and drops by the unathletic TEs. I Expect MArtinez to be solid, Ryan to be solid and Burnett to be extremely frustrated trying to do his job and get all the other DBs lined up while Dom takes a nap in the booth or when awake sends 12 men on the field...Ya know, pretty much what has happened all year.

I expect the defense to get shredded, and maybe force one punt at most. But then Dom Capers is a lucky guy. I half expect the Lions to phone it in, and for the defense to look respectable causing MM to think Capers defense works, which means another wasted year of Rodgers' career.

I expect more injuries, maybe a few concussions, knees, backs, and shoulders, and that's just the coaches. The Magnificent Brett Hundley will throw some interceptions and the Packers will kick a 60 yard field goal to win thus moving down in the 2018 draft. The defense will be inspired enough to save Dom Capers' job. Won't see much of the guys some want to see play like Mays and Callahan. Packers win 13 10.

It’s a road game against a similarly shambled team so Hundley will look better.

Considering that Stafford knows our defense better than our own defenders he should have a banner day.

The expectation is that hundley will look good enough to make the hundley fans express their faith while his detractors will continue to detract. I also expect the defense to look terrible with moments of near greatness. Couple that with the injuries and we are sure to see Dom heading the defense next year. Bummer.

I expect this to be a shitty game. One which I will happily miss due to family travel.

That said, I wish we were playing a team that had something to play for, so we get trucked. Dom's D didn't look nearly bad enough last week, and I want change. I also hope Ted retires.

That said, because it's been this awful of a year, I expect to win over a listless and completely unmotivated Lions squad who knows their coaching staff and many of their teammates are dead men walking.

The nfl should find a way to make it worthwhile for a team to try and win an otherwise nothing game , because the smart move is to lose and improve draft position. Don't forget, it's not just round 1, but every round is in a better position if you lose.

The key is which Stafford plays, with all his talent throwing the ball it is surprising that his record against teams 500 or better is so bad. He grew up with Kershaw and both have trouble in big games, go figure that one out. If he is ON look out, if not the Packers have a chance to win it if they can run the ball and not turn it over. I was hoping to see Lang but it sounds like he is questionable, Barclay was just put on IR (concusion) and I think our DL bust Khri Thornton is active after missing the 1st half being suspended and Ringo plays special teams. They cut 2 former Packers this year as well, Abbredaris, and Dantone Jones. Talk about DL busts, 1st the Packers didn't pick up his contract, then the Lions signed/cut him, then the 49ers signed/cut him and now he is on the Cowboys 53 - 4 teams in a calendar year.

We need a loss, I expect a loss. But, this is the lolions and you never know. If we lose and the stars align, we could be picking as high as 12. Win this game and we could be picking at 18, that alone would suck. The only way we get better is to hit on some studs in the draft, we won't see it in FA.
