Packers Practice: Bulaga Questionable For Sunday's Showdown With the Jets

Packers coach Mike McCarthy gave his final update today prior to Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

Mike McCarthy met with reporters today in advance of  the Packers' showdown with the New York Jets on Sunday. The biggest takeaway was that offenisive tackle Bryan Bulaga is dealing with some soreness after Thursday's practice. Bulaga will be listed as Questionable (50/50 chance of playing) for Sunday's game.

McCarthy indicated that some kind of platoon between Bulaga and backup Derek Sherrod could be possible.

The rest of the injury list is as follows:

Brandon Bostick: Probable

Demtri Goodson: Probable

Eddie Lacy: Probable

Brad Jones: Out

McCarthy indicated that both Jamari Lattimore and Sam Barrington have worked in Jones' place this week, but all signs point to Lattimore getting the start against the Jets.

I'm wondering if my thoughts will come true with Bulaga. They will activate him but start Sherrod and will only use Bulaga as an emergency option.

Best news of the day. Brad Jones is out... I have said this all week, but I don't care who starts and who plays. Just so they play well enough to prevent Jones from playing anymore.
From things I have seen/heard it sounds like Lattimore will be the starter. Maybe they use Barrington in packages or something?

Another player I am looking forward to seeing play is Bostick. He provides that player that can attack the middle of the field. I would actually like to see the Packers use all 3 TE's a quite a bit in the passing game.

Looking forward to Sunday.

Go Pack Go!!!

I still doubt it, but I do wonder who the back-up tackle will be for this game. Lang, I guess?

I'm just wondering because it says that McCarthy indicated a platoon could be used with Bulaga and Sherrod.

Yeah, Lang would be the next backup T.

Something I have thought about lately. If Linsley performs as well as he did against the Seahawks up until Tretter comes back, Do they make Tretter the backup everything player? Have him backup G and T? He was a T in college.

Mike was referencing the possibility of starting Bulaga and spelling him with Sherrod throughout.

Thanks for clarifying that Aaron. I didn't hear McCarthy's press conference today.

I could see Jones having bruised glutes from getting knocked on his ass so much last week. The quad is a bit surprising though.

Please, Lattimore/Barrington, keep Jones on the pine until March.

I don't think Bulaga ever had a shot at playing this week with how cautious the medical staff is. I don't see the point in him practicing and not resting.

Interesting from Rob Demovsky on twitter -

RobDemovsky -
Jamari Lattimore, who will start for B. Jones, said he was dealing with a season-long illness last year. Looks forward to playing healthy.

RobDemovsky -
Lattimore wouldn't get specific on the illness but said it was a similar to the stomach ailment Terrell Manning battled in 2012.

I look forward to seeing him playing healthy too... I didn't know he had any illness last year.

I believe that Manning had Ulcerative Collitis or Crohns, or something similar. It's not something that you catch (to my knowledge), but just something that you develop. During the times when it is not under control, it can be debilitating. Keeping it under control can be different for each person. If Lattimore has something similar, hopefully he's figured out what works for him.

Here's a novel idea. How about our number one pick Sherrod actually not needing a backup and coming to the party and earn those big bucks for a change.
To me he was another wasted first round pick of Teddy. Get as much playing time for this fat ass as you can and move on...............

Vikings have more notorious child abusers than Super Bowls. Worst franchise ever. As bad as the new Browns.
