Packers Postpone McCarthy's Afternoon Press Conference

Not that it was likely to happen anyway, but any hope for clarity regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers and whether he'll be able to play against the Falcons or whether he'll be shut down for the season isn't coming on Monday after the Packers cancelled Mike McCarthy's previously scheduled afternoon press conference.

No reason for the cancellation has been reported.

Perhaps word got out that no one was going to attend, there was nothing to talk about now that the season is all but over. Have some conferences after the season and talk about the need to rebuild this team from top to bottom.

Anybody else notice how this comes on the heels of AR's bombshell of "I will play"? Sounds to me like AR is asserting himself as THE QB of the Packers, and has backed the front office into a corner. He's either going to play or they are going to look like they've lost control of their star. Welcome to the NFL Aaron! We're happy to have you.

At least when it comes to the offense, it appears that Rodgers is a player-coach.

I am sure they are gathering the top medical people in the world and need more time to decide on Rodgers' fate.

Rodgers says he plans on playing but the Packers make the ultimate decision. Could be a massive PR move to help out Rodgers with some of the Favre Worshippers that have come out of the woodwork the past couple weeks or this really could be real and they need another day. We'll see.

Maybe someone is resigning any thoughts on that, maybe they are doing to a 4-3 who knows.

Maybe MM doesn't feel well. You know, all the pressure of losing and unable to fix the problem without a healthy AR.

I hate one-man teams.

Yes, but Rogers an outstanding QB, but he apprears to be one man team due to a disconnect between the coach and the players.

It could be anything, but after watching Seattle destroy the Saints tonight, waiting until next year when the team is healthy before facing them is beginning to look like a reasonable alternative. Maybe McCarthy is announcing that Aaron is going to be put on IR?
