Packers Podcast: Unlikely the Packers Acquire Matt Flynn

On Monday morning I joined Bart Winkler on K107 in Fond du Lac to take a look back at Monday's 27-20 Packers loss to the Bears. We talk about all matters related to the quarterback in Green Bay from speculating about Aaron Rodgers' injury to examining the replacement options. The most likely option seems to be sticking with the status quo and moving on with Seneca Wallace, but acquiring Matt Flynn, Brett Favre or promoting Scott Tolzien from practice squad are all under consideration.

They will not go after Favre. Flynn maybe but then that's saying they know Wallace sucks and they are in deep trouble.

What would el cheapo Ted do: promote Tolzien to the team, move BJ to the practice squad and let Seneca lead this team to futility. The only thing Wallace can do is hand off and that gets old after three times.

Wallace is not the answer that's for damn sure. Where's Vincent Young these days?

Just stop. You're embarrassing yourself.

Are you ready to watch more of what was at qb last night? I would look at every option that has knowledge of our playbook

Give him a week with the #1's. He'll be much improved next week. That's how this game works.

"Are you ready to watch more of what was at qb last night?"

If the other option is Vince Young, a hundred times yes.

No good options are available. Flynn and Wallace both suck. Tolzien probably sucks. Or he just more than likely sucks.

Time to call Jeff Garcia!!!!

Wallace was never the answer and last night proved it. His big upside was supposed to be his mobility, he was neither mobile or accurate. Yes it was his first game action but the ability to run should be like riding a bike. He ran right into the defense. At least Vince could scramble when plays broke down.

Poor Seneca looked old, indecisive, and threw perhaps the slowest ball GB fans have seen in over 25 years. Plus he's just too short. There's got to be better options that do not include BF or VY.

Most of you guys don't like him, but Graham Harrell is available. Knows the offense, no doubt has more zip on the ball than Seneca. Just throwing out the possibility.

I'd prefer Flynn over Harrell, assuming he's healthy. Harrell admittedly would be more familiar with the offense, but I feel that Flynn has a little more talent overall.

We're talking about backup-level talent either way.

In my opinion, they have a pretty good quarterback, in Scott Tolzein on the practice squad. Why not bring him up? We certainly would have a better chance with him, than Wallace. He did a great job at WI. I think Green Bay should give him a shot. He always was a pretty good passing quarterback.
