Packers Make Roster Moves

On Wednesday, the Packers placed linebacker James Vaughters on the practice squad injured reserve list and signed tight end Blake Annen to the practice squad.

With TE Andrew Quarless out for a couple of weeks following an injury in Monday Night's victory over Kansas City, the Packers might be thin at tight end moving forward. Annen played in five games last season with the Chicago Bears.

The Packers also have tight end Justin Perillo on their practice squad and could choose to promote either if they feel there is a need.

So Guion will take Q's place, and it looks like Adams will be out. Move the RIP to TE.

Blake Annen 6'4" TE from Cincinatti. Reportedly ran a 4.41 40 at his pro day.

At the very least it sounds as if he is very athletic. Possibly a guy they could develop?

He did very well, but he's an old-school TE.
Great blocker, can catch, but definitely not a threat in the game, not the type we need, cause we already have RR as a blocker.
I thought he'd go to another team with need of a TE that'd play FB too, but I was wrong.

I wasn't impressed by Perillo. I described him as "not terrible." More NFL ready than Backman (but then I think Backman is truly, actually terrible). I would not be willing to cut Banjo, Taylor, Gaston or even Goodson to put Perillo on the 53 so he can be inactive every week.

No. He made some catches and looked pretty good.

They should sign Colt Lyerla. He's better than any TE they have on the roster right now.

Just stop already. Its a stupid comment and if its meant as a joke, it stopped being funny years ago.

I'd like to see Abby get some time if he can. With DA out w/ his ankle- couldn't this happen?

Who do you suggest the packers cut to sign him to the 53 man roster?

I have said this as well. I think they could possibly bring him up with Adams injury. They are down to 4 WR's, and lets be honest, Rodgers doesn't trust the Janis right now. If one more WR gets injured they will be down to 2 WR's Rodgers trusts.
Rodgers raved about Abbrederis last year, so there is a good chance he will trust him more.

I am curious about other injuries that they could possibly IR someone. Goodson's injury is one I wonder about. Of any position on the team they are the deepest at CB. If his injury is somewhat significant I could see them putting him on IR and bringing up Abbrederis.

I wanted Annen 2 years ago. Along with Linsley, Janice, & Abbrederis.

& also for the record wanted nothing to do with dix, adams, thorton, rogers, or bradford.

TT should give up play-calling for the 1st 3 rounds of the draft.
