Packers Looking At LaBoy
By PackerAaron
Can't say I'm a huge fan, but the Packers' interest in Travis LaBoy makes some sense. The guy can turn the corner, but I don't see how he's an upgrade over Chillar and his disapperaing act over the course of last season, in the first year of a new deal, is disconcerting. I really don't think OLB is the concern at this point - defensive end is, unless they aren't just blowing smoke and really are planning on playing Pickett occasionally at DE. Needless to say, I remain quite skeptical on that front...
UPDATE: See, I KNEW the Packers were smarter than that... ;)

We do have eleven LB's (or OLB's) on the Roster right now.
Danny Lansanah --- 6'1" / 248
AJ Hawk --- 6'1" / 247
Desmond Bishop --- 6'2" / 241
Nick Barnett --- 6'2" / 232
Brady PopPinga --- 6'3" / 245
Brandon Chillar --- 6'3" / 242
Spencer Havner --- 6'3" / 245
Brad Jones --- 6'3" / 232
Clay Matthews --- 6'3" / 245
Jeremy Thompson --- 6'4" / 264
Aaron Kampman --- 6'4" / 278
Aaron Kampman: should be a DE - add 10 lbs
======================
The word is, Jeremy Thompson is showing Capers some things in the 3-4, as is PopPinga whose playing style should favor this change-over. Barnett had a knee injury last year, right? Is he considered gone? He was stubborn about moving over for AJ to absorb the middle three seasons ago. Word is he also sold his house.
