Packers Have Sixth Hardest Schedule in 2013

Based on 2012-13 records, the Green Bay Packers will face the sixth hardest schedule next season.

The NFL released each team’s strength of schedule Thursday. The Carolina Panthers (138-116-2) have the hardest the schedule, while the Denver Broncos (110-146) have the easiest. Green Bay’s opponent record is 136-119-1 (.533).

Among those on the Packers’ 2013 schedule are the Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. Overall, Green Bay plays six playoff teams, and 10 of the teams had a winning record.

In the NFC North, the Detroit Lions have the hardest schedule (second overall, 138-118), Minnesota Vikings third (10th, 132-124) and Chicago Bears fourth (16th, 128-127-1).

A year ago, the Packers had the second-easiest schedule based on 2011 records.

I think you mean “second-easiest schedule.”

But I’d be curious to see those rankings readjusted based on 2012 records.

With how quickly teams go from good to bad (and vice verse) the “strength of schedule” rankings are basically meaningless.

Coach McCarthy does not make excuses and he would never use strength of schedule as an excuse for a lackluster season.

Let’s hope James Stark’s toe is feeling better soon! And Bulaga’s hip. And Bishop’s hamstring. And Finley’s ego.

Strength of Schedule – anxiously waiting for official team reaction from (wait for it) the “Face of the Franchise”. AKA – Rodgers Speaks!
